unfortunately the asian spice tends to drive people to believe in a moon god, and itch to cut the throats of infidels...

Umm... prussic acid is cyanide. I guess it would take care of the cancer, but it will also take care of you!

Yes I know. It is, nevertheless, kin to almonds, peach pits, apple seeds. I think that was my point. :)

Nope, but I did a summer job at Wright-Patterson up in Dayton ... close enough to Cincy to get Skyline though lol.

Sorry to hear about your son.

I'm not knocking homeopathic treatments. Sometimes, they are the best route.

The thread just brought back the memories of a Freeper who went a bit overboard with hs recomendation for coffee enema's, and he did that on several threads. It was "off-the-wall" to say the least.

Good. I love tumeric. Roast a chicken, or chicken parts, bone IN (chicken tastes so horrible in the boneless varieties), and before roasting, rub it down with salt, pepper, and tumeric. Simply delicious.

Don’t get turmeric *on* anything, like your counters or clothing. It doesn’t wash out no matter what you do.

Had to laugh at your post! I make bread & butter pickles because my husband likes them...use lots of turmeric. Anyway, I once spilled some on the counter and tried numerous kitchen cleaners, soft scrub, etc.

I eventually grabbed the straight-on, full-strength Windex. I sprayed it on there, and decided to let it sit for a little bit (probably not the best idea, but I was annoyed and always enjoyed chemistry lab...nearly blew it up once in college, but that's another story). At first, nothing happened. BUT, after about 30 seconds, a major chemical reaction of some sort occurred...bubbling, hissing, the whole works.

Waited for it to stop, wiped up the mess, and voila: no stain, and no hole in the counter!

Of course, this is a laminate counter top...goodness only knows what would happen with other surfaces...but it's worked every time I've tried it since.

Interesting! I have Formica counters, so I’ll have to try soaking stains in Windex.

We made phosgene in my high school chem class ... the teacher was a WW1 vet, ancient and quite drifty ...
