The "movers and shakers" of Washington DC have apparently seen the light. Well connected PAC's, even those connected to Clinton and Obama, have started shifting money to the right:
Major political action committees and employees of the nation's largest business empires have dramatically shifted their money to the right. A detailed analysis of 2010 campaign cycle contributions by the Houston Chronicle shows that Republicans are catching up with Senate Democrats in campaign fundraising. Donations to the Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY)-led Senate Democratic Campaign Committee (DSCC) have dropped 25 percent this year alone."Employees of 126 businesses that had donated money to Senate Democrats in the 2008 campaign have switched all or most of their 2010 contributions to the Republicans, according to an analysis of Federal Election Commission reports by the Houston Chronicle," Stewart Powell and Yang Wang report.
[snip]
They are laying their bets that Republicans will be the party they need to deal with after the midterms, and they have even started sending money towards the right aisle of the Senate. Is there a real shot at taking the Senate as well?
We shall see, I wouldn't get too cocky just yet.
But news like the one below makes it a bit hard not to:
Daniel S. Loeb, the hedge fund manager, was one of Barack Obamas biggest backers in the 2008 presidential campaign.A registered Democrat, Mr. Loeb has given and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Democrats. Less than a year ago, he was considered to be among the Wall Street elite still close enough to the White House to be invited to a speech in Lower Manhattan, where President Obama outlined the need for a financial regulatory overhaul.
So it came as quite a surprise on Friday, when Mr. Loeb sent a letter to his investors that sounded as if he were preparing to join Glenn Beck in Washington over the weekend.

Yep... here it comes.... “Remember we gave you all this money, so PLEASE vote on our pet projects”.
The same temptation that made us the Me too Democrat lite party.
Hold fast folks.... we may win this election big, only to lose the war BIGGER.
It’s funny when the light comes on and these guys say to themselves, “Hey! Wait a minute! I AM “the rich”!
What will they want in return?
This is the process whereby the RNC retains its RINO leanings. They see all this money coming in and they go all gaga with moderation. There’s got to be a way to rid our leadership of Chamber of Commerce girly men.
Very true. If the republicans get into power, the people should zero in on them, and hold them to account. If they don’t improve things, we’ll throw their asses out too! I’ve had enough of this. Either honestly help fix it, or get the hell out of the way!
they can shift their donations from left to right just like they can shift their nuts from left to right in their shorts.
fact remains, the damage is done; and a whole gaggle of these retards are about to watch as a significant portion of their personal wealth evaporates into the pockets of those who they thought were only going to screw the other guy.
cry me a frikin river.
Schumer’s a putz.
Its worse than that. If this next congress does not CUT spending... and I don’t mean cut the growth were the budget says 5% increases so we give them 3% and call it a 2% cut.
I mean outright reduce spending to BELOW Clinton Era spending. We are DONE. FINISHED. OVER.
14 TRILLION will take 14 YEARS to recover. And it will take 14 consecutive years of double digit growth to do it.
Do you know what? That has never happened.
In the 20’s, 50’s and 80’s we had 3 and 2 and 2 years of consecutive double digit economic growth. Never 4 years in a row. Never 5. or 6 or 7. How can we have TWICE that? 14?
We can’t. So we need to CUT. CUT and cut like a civil war trauma surgeon!
So is Dan "Mr Pink" Loeb.
there aint $hit as far as accountability goes. never was and never will be.
things are spiraling down to a bottom now; desperation and frantic triage is the only rational option for many politically connected parties to the left and right.
think of a sub at 100m that just took a foreward hit and managed to close compartments; still watching the boat slip down, knowing the bottom is 900km below. blow all you can, the tanks just don't got what it takes to rise.
sux for the average seaman on the boat, fate the same however.
there is sadly no way out, guilty or not.
we all go down together.
Very true! We need to reduce the federal government to the strict duties of national defense, interstate commerce, and the other narrowly defined roles in which they had. Cut the rest. Problems solved over night.
They will say we want to throw old people out into the cold, and make the poor eat dog food. So be it! We can no longer afford it! That’s a message that anyone that manages a household budget can understand! Poor people didn’t have ‘food stamps’ 200 years ago, and I’m sure they didn’t all starve to death in the streets. People will find a way for themselves, when they HAVE to.
I remember after Carter the dems were up against it and they had telethons with the usual CELEBRITIES crying that we “need” a two party system. I doubt they’d say that if it was the GOP against the wall. And as far as I’m concerned, if the GOP takes charge and doesn’t make some drastic changes fast they WILL be up against it.
