telling them to rely on the same person who got them into the mess (themselves).

Wow, I listened and what I got was individual responsibility is what is needed.

Beck said yesterday in his interview w/Chris Wallace, that his God theme was like the thinking that influenced the Founders. Example:

Benjamin Franklin: “ God governs in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel” –Constitutional Convention of 1787

Media says “Too many Whites” huh? America is overwhelmingly white. A cross section of America will give you a largely white crowd. Out of 100 people you may have 3 Muslims, 12 Blacks, 10 Hispanics (many of whom are white), 1 Indian, etc. But the media wants everything to “look like America” so a campaign photo will have a backdrop of an oriental, Black,
i.e. disproportionate showing of minorities. And if a job opens up, like a football coach, the minority is supposed to get it or it must be a “racist” choice.

It wasn’t 300k. It was way over 500k. Maybe closer to a million.

He’s the one that comes up with the wild AA collectivist interpretation of a basic pro-America rally and I’m the one “overthionking”?

I think you should get your “overthionking” detection cap on straight.

Hmmm, maybe you were addressing the original poster and not me. If so, then your overthionking cap IS on straight! :)

Ronbo, I didn’t care for the general tone of the original post but I know others who agree that Beck appears to be headed for a breakdown. His history lessons have been invaluable as well as his research into Obama’s advisors. I certainly hope his fervor doesn’t get the best of him.

It was uplifting. It was definitely uplifting. I wish I could have been there. I couldn’t make it.

I attended the Restore Honor rally, and noticed few blacks in attendance.

Though the revival flavor was not unwelcome, what drove me to spend the time and money to be there was anger. I'm an employer, and I'm angry at what this administration has done to my country, so I was a bit disappointed in the lack of red meat.

Perhaps there are statistically few blacks who work in the (enemy) private sector. Fewer even who own small businesses such that they could feel the target on their backs. The shame is that, again statistically, among blacks who aren't recipients of government largess, so many have come to be employed by government in the delivery mechanism.

I'll bet the blacks who were in attendance own businesses, or are smart enough to realize what Obama is doing.

I wonder if they are all as expert as Ronbo.

Whatever. Beck certainly doesn't need my defense. I do think it's amusing that people on the sidelines have him all figured out. Kind of like the MSM. Let's don't discuss the issues he brings up, let's focus on the person and find flaws.

Because certainly none of us, esp the anonymous Beck fault-finders in the crowd, and certainly none of the MSM journolisters, have any flaws. Not any worth discussing, anyway. All the flaws are on Beck's side.

Clearly you have a problem, perhaps Beck Derangement Syndrome. I love Becks heart, and would stand with him, arms locked against anyone who chooses to attack him.

I thought the 8.28 rally and Friday evenings event at the Lincoln Center, nothing short of beautiful and inspirational. It certainly beats listening to Obama and his cast of clowns repeatedly lie to the country everyday.

Maybe I just wasn’t paying attention in the weeks leading up to the event, but I assumed Glenn Beck was going to use the platform to call attention to the key issues with which the nation is struggling and which will influence the outcome of the forthcoming November midterm elections.

You weren't paying attention, Mr. Caruba. Beck explicitly stated (many times) that it would not be a political event.

I agree. I would like to have seen it be more political. But I figured the point was to widen the audience and give the lie to the media labeling us all as "haters".

There was a lot of talk of God, but I don’t recall that Dr. King, a preacher of astonishing power, was preaching Christ Jesus that day forty-seven years ago. King focused on the problem that had been troubling the soul of America since the days of the Revolution, the days of the Civil War, the Reconstruction, and the hundred years that had passed since then.

Dr. King was working specifically to end a particular injustice.

Beck called America to remember who she is.

Two entirely different purposes. I'm surprised at this piece. Caruba is usually much better than this.

Yes, Beck, like most AA Nazis, is creepy.

You are a dyslexic Nucking Fut.

To call Beck a collective is insane.

Don’t quite have the take on this you do.

I agree that AA comes across as collectivist.

And I do agree that Beck appears to do a large part of his events and TV/radio show as one giant therapy session (for him).

But he’s not creepy. He’s just someone that provides TMI about his problems to his audience.

Um, what?????

This rally was about the individual. Glenn encouraged everyone to dig deep & do the right thing THEMSELVES. He talked on & on about how our nation was founded on the idea of individual’s empowerment and how we as individuals hold the power to make our mation better. But that that has to start with each of us individually.

My guess is that you haven’t watched the rally or listened to Beck’s actual words.
