Sarah Palin was dismissed as a light weight and Islamophobe. They can't say the same about Newt!
In my posts (here, here) objecting to the building of a mosque near the site of Ground Zero in New York set to open on the 10th anniversary of the attacks by radical Islam, I hardly mentioned the significance of the name "Cordoba House" which the mosque builders proposed for this 13 story mega mosque.
The name did not escape the notice of Newt Gingrich:

There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia. The time for double standards that allow Islamists to behave aggressively toward us while they demand our weakness and submission is over.
The proposed "Cordoba House" overlooking the World Trade Center site – where a group of jihadists killed over 3000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks - is a test of the timidity, passivity and historic ignorance of American elites. For example, most of them don’t understand that “Cordoba House” is a deliberately insulting term. It refers to Cordoba, Spain – the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world’s third-largest mosque complex.
Today, some of the Mosque’s backers insist this term is being used to "symbolize interfaith cooperation" when, in fact, every Islamist in the world recognizes Cordoba as a symbol of Islamic conquest. It is a sign of their contempt for Americans and their confidence in our historic ignorance that they would deliberately insult us this way.

Newt’s right here and is right most of the time.He makes lucid arguments but has the Perot feel to him.If he gets close to the brass ring he will surely find a way to blow it by loving to hear himself talk too much.Find he and Palin other roles in which to help and get rid of the affirmative hire Steele.
Newt is damaged goods and is now pretty well limited to commentator/analyst. Bright, but serious character flaws, too much baggage and not nearly enough spine.
He’s late on this so he must now feel the water’s fine or he wouldn’t haven’t taken this stand.
Has he already served in Congress?
His doom is sealed.
NO INCUMBENTS, NO WAY, No How!
Where was he when both parties were destroying the economy, the Constitution and our way of life?
We need fighters, not more "go along to get along;" and they better be fighters 24/7/365!
