When you come right down to it, an implant is not that much more expensive than a bridge, and a LOT better.

I lost a middle molar to a root fracture and had it done. It takes a year from the time you get the tooth pulled to the time you get the post put in, then you have to have your dentist put a crown on that, but it's worth it. I have watched my father struggle with a removable bridge for years. An implant is, for all practical purposes, just another tooth.

The implant is a titanium “root”. Then a crown is placed over it.
