Yesterday, Obama attempted to be hip and cool and tried to show some emotional investment in the BP oil crisis that is rapidly becoming Obama’s Katrina by showing BP that he meant business:
I was down there a month ago, before most of these talkin’ heads were even paying attention to the gulf. A month ago I was meeting with fishermen down there, standin’ in the rain talking about what a potential crisis this could be. and I don’t sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar, we talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers, so I know whose ass to kick.
When this quote broke, the Conservative reaction on Twitter seemed to be that it is unfortunate that we went to elect a “Cool President” rather than one who had substance. While I understand the sentiment, I have to strongly disagree with my fellow Conservatives who espouse this view.

If one was truthfully concerned about the Gulf oil crisis and one were in an influential position (like POTUS) one would be working behind the scenes to muster all the technical resources one could offer and defer to those resources to publicly explain the issues, rather than from the Media and Politicians.
We have allowed the pretension of "self-esteem" and Ego to destroy us. And Barack Obama (Harvard) is the epitome.
