Days after Arizona's governor signed a tough new immigration measure into law, Hertz® Car Rental officials will likely face pressure to pull a new television spot.
The television commercial features an obviously-in-love 20-somethings couple renting a Volvo C70 convertible, climbing into the car, and then encountering a number of potential travel destinations from which to choose on the screen of the car's NeverLost® navigation system. Then, at the 19-second mark of the video, the couple selects Arizona -- not Alabama, Alaska, Alberta or Arkansas -- as their destination of choice.
Once word gets out about the ever-so-subtle message of this commercial, I expect members of the pro-illegal immigration crowd will demand Hertz officials pull the it (i.e., succumb to political correctness). Conversely, I hope Hertz® officials will decide to support the governor of the Grand Canyon State for taking decisive action after the federal government would not.
If you support the stance taken by Governor Brewer and members of the Grand Canyon State's legislature on illegal immigration, let the folks at Hertz® know about it. Use the mailing address below to send a letter to company officials that encourages them to continue airing the ad. The mailing address appears below:
The headline doesn’t describe the article nor the content.
It says “just look what might happen!”
WTH?
This add was aired before the law was passed. I still agree with it :) I proposed to my wife in AZ, we had our daughter there and still have friends there. Spent our 10th Anniversary in Sedona back in ‘06.
I love the state and now even more.
add = ad
I read it to say BUYCOT Arizonia, not boycot..

Really? I’ll boycott Hertz.
Hard to follow, but so long as AZ leads, I am happy to cheer for her!
And IMHO, there is NO basis for anyone to have any legal basis against anything the new law has established. It merely says it shall uphold federal law.
IOW: “To be illegal is a crime” — HORRORS!!
I will no longer use Hertz. And if I get a chance, I’ll buy property there.
I agree. I don’t see anything political though in the commercial. It was aired over 2 months ago and it is not new. Someone fishing for hits to their blog it seems.
I thought it was a sweet commercial and can relate. I moved from Lancaster, CA. to Scottsdale, AZ. with my future wife back in ‘96.
hertz sucks anyway....boycott them..wonder how many illegals rent their cars.
I saw them punch in Arizona, didn’t find anything wrong with the commerical unless it was in the last 8 seconds...dial up takes forever to download...Didn’t hear any thing about boycotting arizona.
Here's a fine example of the arithemic geniuses running American corporations.
70% of your potential customers, (likely more, unless your customer base is primarily illegal aliens), approve of Arizona's new bill to enforce federal laws that are being ignored by the feds.
Many American corporations need to crumble just to get the idiots out of the executive positions.
Buycott Hertz!
Boycotting Hertz doesn’t make sense. They chose Arizona as the destination in their commercial. They should be applauded.
Again, boycotting Hertz doesn’t make sense. They chose Arizona as the destination in their commercial. They should be applauded.
You must not have read the post. “BUYCOTT” is not a misspelling.
Supplsedly “Buycott” is the opposite of “Boycott.”
Foolishly confusing.
duh i thought it said boycott
