Ron Paul & Mitt Romney (Cheaters) Stack Straw Poll At SRLC
Governor Palin 4 President ^

The Southern Republican Leadership Conference Straw Poll doesn't carry a whole lot of weight, since it's skewed — like most of these things — by the makeup of the crowd, the intensity of Ron Paul's supporters and the ease of gaming the vote.

That doesn't mean, however, that the various camps aren't trying to game it. One of the organizers told me that two groups, Paul's Campaign for Liberty and Evangelicals for Mitt (which denies ties to Romney) have purchased blocks of tickets to the event, typically given to supporters. etc

The very fact that Ron Paul came in with one less vote than Mitt makes Mitt a laughingstock.

This is exactly what happened at CPAC, young Ron Paul supporters swarmed the event and I’ll bet every darn one of them participated in the straw poll (which only tallied about 25% of the total attendee count).

There was an audible gasp when the results were reported at the close of the convention, but you have to remember that most people did NOT even vote.

So it really wasn’t an accurate poll, very much like the Romney/Paul results just garnered.

Its gonna get ugly. Romney folks, Paul folks and dont forget the hucksters folks will spread lies, half truths and hate around the election. Count on it.

Paul and Romney have solid disciplined orgs and know how to get results. The hucksters think they are voting for Jesus and can easily be manipulated. Obama is counting on these folks.

If Mitt’s a laughingstock what does that say about Palin, Gingrich and the rest?

The votes Romney and Paul bought at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference for the Straw Poll make them no different than the ACORN bought votes by Obama and the Democraps.

Erm, Mitt bought his votes without appearing himself.

Passive agressive to the max.

Evangelicals for Mitt PAID people to go on the condition that they vote for him.

His outfit handed out piggy banks, his books, bought ads in the program ...

So he did everything he could to buy the vote.

EXCEPT SHOW UP HIMSELF AND CONVINCE PEOPLE THROUGH THE POWER OF HIS IDEAS AND HIS SPEECH TO VOTE FOR HIM.

Palin gave out caribou jerky - with no mention of the vote anywhere on it. And Palin showed up.

As did Gingerich.

So what it says is that if Palin and/or Gingerich run, they will ask for your vote based on their ideas and based on their showing up to connect with you and listen to you.

And that if Mitt runs, once again, he will try to buy the nomination, just like he did in 2008.

and then they’ll lose to Mitt?!? Strange logic, but whatever helps you sleep through the night.

I was wondering how Romney managed to come out on top. Now I know.

I will never vote for Romney. Never.
