Life and death in the Third Riech
Michigan War Studies Review ^ | 01/03/10 | Peter Fritzsche

Posted on 03/24/2010 10:33:45 PM PDT by Kartographer

His first chapter "Reviving a Nation", shows how cleaverly Nazism was inserted into the lives of the ordinary Germans, converting contentious citizens into racial comrades. Indeed, Fritzsche uses the word “conversion” quite often, denoting the life-changing experience of becoming Nazi. Such conversions were best effected through indoctrination in communal settings at the local level, supplemented by party propaganda transmitted in print and on radio. At the same time, the Party’s monopoly of most aspects of life—education, recreation, jobs, and opportunities for advancement—persuaded the more reluctant that “to get along, you had to go along.”

Television. Already controls most of the masses with ball games and other inane nonsense. Fox/Saudia is now bashing Gerrt Wilders so they suck too.

If anyone wants to buy “The Triumph of the Will” this is the best copy made, the 1935 original was cleaned up and remastered in 2006.

Watching it now, thanks for sharing. I’ve been researching A LOT of Nazi films and one thing I have realized is how it crept into their society. Acceptance, over time, in little bits. Frightening.

I see many Freepers “It’s JUST this, don’t overreact!” and next little bit “It’s JUST such and such...”

I said when seeing people rejoice back in November that I know how some Germans must have felt in the early 30’s.

It amazes me that 30 years ago, when Jews in Hollywood actually mocked Nazism openly (Springtime for Hitler, for example, or actually, almost anything by Mel Brooks), America had a clearer sense of right and wrong.

Now, in our Politically Correct vacuum if ideas, people have nothing to compare Obama to, and in their ignorance, they march to their doom.

Our rulers are clever. They *allow* any sort of sex, they go easy on any sex offenders who stop short of killing a victim (there are exceptions even to this), they are de facto decriminalizing drugs and will legalize them with heavy taxes as the need for more and more revenue occurs. Propaganda is paid for via paid TV and property taxes that fund the schools. We can pay to watch sports broadcasts. We can buy *stuff* if we have the money and it isn’t deemed harmful to the collective. We may be outrageous if it offends the traditionalists. We may become educated in those areas deemed essential to the elites and to the power status quo as long as we obey the conventions inherent in the inculcated collective. We may criticize anything and anyone not already subsumed under the category of *protected class*. While history has been revised, the worst past events are constantly revived to make sure that there is a method available to demonize oppositions while other historical facts are cleansed and spun to justify oppression in the name of the collective. We are allowed to vote for pre-selected choices.

Because of all this, and more, people think they are free. The word has changed over the years and freedom no longer means being at liberty to rule oneself as an individual. We are *free* within the context of the collective and accept what is and is not *allowed*.

Anything that might be used to show the truth of zerO and our other rulers is deemed *conservative rhetoric* and dismissed out of hand if it cannot be spun into something vile and perhaps criminal.

And everyone who goes along is filled with pride as they are patted on the head and praised for becoming world citizens of the 21st century as defined by the rulers.

It is a perfect system wherein resistors are criminalized and punished and collaborators are given preferences. It works until the killing begins and then, of course, it is too late. As long as the killing can be *outsourced* in some manner (lack of food, heat, medical care defined as natural causes probably attributable to capitalism), the rulers escape blame. When all that is left are the ruins and the enslaved, then they become more blatant because there is nothing/no one left to stop them.

Lenin said that fascism is capitalism in decay. Therefore, the excesses and crimes of fascism are the fault of capitalism. “My way or die” is simply the free expression of the collective under fascism. The collective is the state. The state is the collective. Nous sommes l’état. L’état est nous.

See how symmetrical it is?
