I still remember your story about him on the airplane. You weren’t making that up either. We had a conference call with him a couple months back where we told him one of the guys planning on participating was hospitalized. I said something like “we need to keep him in our prayers”. Hunter said “well let’s pray for him now” and led us in a prayer for our colleague.

Good interview.

There are security reasons for keeping our own industrial base and Duncan Hunter realizes that.

It doesn’t matter a hill of beans to me whether free market goods will be cheaper if we use cheap overseas labor and that entire argument.

What matters is what is ultimate. And what is ultimate is that when war comes we must be self-sufficient in every area of the economy. We must have food, shoes, tractors, tanks, planes, ships, energy....you name it. We need a security-level representation of every piece of industry in our own country.
