Hey, Maybe Bush Was Right? Obama Advisers Recommend Military Tribunal for Khalid Sheik Mohammed

President Obama has stated all along that the decision to move the 9/11 terror trials of Khalid Sheik Mohammed and friends to a civilian court in New York City, has been Eric Holder's and Eric Holder's alone.

It is very hard to comprehend that a politically explosive decision like that was made without the approval of the President. But placing the blame on Holder gives him cover for what apparently is coming next.

Surprised by the continuing anger about moving the trials to a NY Civilian court WAPO is reporting that the trials may be moved back into the military tribunal system.

The president's advisers feel increasingly hemmed in by bipartisan opposition to a federal trial in New York and demands, mainly from Republicans, that Mohammed and his accused co-conspirators remain under military jurisdiction, officials said. While Obama has favored trying some terrorism suspects in civilian courts as a symbol of U.S. commitment to the rule of law, critics have said military tribunals are the appropriate venue for those accused of attacking the United States.

When I was in the AF we had a case where the flight controls of an F-15 were improperly rigged and it cost the AF a fine pilot and a very expensive airplane.

The maintenance procedures required the people who did the rigging to be certified and supervised. The riggers would rig the flight controls, the supervisor had to check them and sign the work order and then a Quality Control Inspector had to check them again and sign them off. After that the crew chief and pilot were supposed to check them prior to flight.

The riggers screwed up, the supervisor signed the form but didn't check, QA signed off without checking, and the crew chief and pilot didn't conduct a proper check. When the plane took off the pilot pulled back on the stick and the plane went nose first into the end of the runway.

The supervisor, QA Inspector, and Crew Chief were all tried for falsifying the documents. The first thing the defense attorneys did was to submit a request to disclose classified information about the avionics on the aircraft. They knew that the AF wouldn't release the info and it would create grounds for a mistrial. Fortunately the panel didn't fall for it.

That's the exact same strategy that would be used by attorney's defending this scum. They would demand to know the names of informants, the capabilities of our spy satellites, and how we gather our intel. The CIA, NSA, and Military would either have to disclose this in open court or drop the charges.

I get a kick out of libbies defending obama’s breaking his campaign promises and doing the same things they protested Bush for, such as tribunals for terrorists, extending the patriot act along with increased wire taps and surveillance, keeping Gitmo open, etc. etc. etc. I can’t decide which is more humorous: that they can do it with a straight face or that the msm not only doesn’t call him on it, but joins the circle jerk.

“Surprised by the continuing anger about moving the trials to a NY Civilian court WAPO is reporting...”

...They figured that by now, we’d be tired of protesting these atrocities. That’s the way it used to be. The people have finally awakened and will not rest until some major changes in “leadership” occur. 11/10!

Gee, if Bush was right about this, what else could there possibly be that Bush was right about?

Like, maybe tax cuts to boost the economy?

Why not give that a shot?

Khalid and his boys were interrogated. They admitted their guilt and said that they want to be martyred - The only thing left is the execution. Why did’t Bush take care of this before he left office??? That’s the real mystery to me.

it’s kinda funny really. oblabo makes a bunch of huge promises based on his “experience” and what he thinks of as the “stupid wrongheaded thinking” of the bush admin and then when he gets the job he finds he isn’t actually capable of delivering on those promises. why? because he did not know what the hell he was talking about. and now everyone else knows he didn’t know what the hell he was talking about. the really funny part is that his actions are saying “GEORGE BUSH WAS RIGHT!!!”

The Arab world has no, zero problem executing these scum.

I think it is a class thing. Our country is ruled by advanced degree, sensitive people. Nothing wrong with that. Basically, I thing they, as a class, were squeamish.

These are people that don't by and large favor the death penalty but have no problem with those people being placed in working/middle class neighborhoods for parole, half way houses, etc. Where as the blue collar, working class, small business men would have no problem hanging these criminals.

Have you read “Shadow Warriors” by Timmerman? This explains why no Conservative will ever be successful in the POTUS position. The bureaucracies are so entrenched with Enemies of State, that no substantive change will be possible. You can bet Barry Soetoro is ensuring that these “implementation positions” are fully infiltrated and entrenched beyond anything previously attempted. What we see publicly is all street theater to keep us divereted. We are in the gravest of danger, but no one is really responding on a level worthy of the THREAT. I think we are all very frightened because we do know what the communists in power do to their own people - there will be no mercy when we finally respond to the Treason going on right now. I hope to give as good as I get.

Bush, as Gov of Texas, bragged during the presidential debates about our record of executing criminals. I don’t think Bush was squeamish, nor was Cheney. The current commanders who value diversity seem a bit squeamish.
