War for Islamic Sharia Law

If the mission in Afghanistan is two-fold, the defeat of the abysmal Taliban and the creation of a stable, democratic state, it would appear that we are not doing well.

The same could be said of "nation building" in Iraq. The true measure of our efforts in both beneficiary countries should be based upon an examination of the foundations of these countries that we have created with the blood of our best and treasure. When such an examination is made the result can only be horror.

The constitutions of Iraq and Afghanistan for those who love democracy, freedom, and liberty, are failures. If the constitution of a new nation is a failure, what kind of nation can be built then upon it?

Democracy with Muslims has brought groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Muslim Brotherhood into office. It is a failure.

What can be the purpose of the United States (the "great satan") in creating new Islamic states? The answers are not forthcoming because these questions are rarely (if ever) asked.

Actually, I've been asking that question since the decision was made to enshrine Islam in the Iraqi constitution. It makes no sense whatever.

I have no objection to our attempting to create modern states out of those two countries, because I think such states would ultimately contribute to the cultural development that would result in the abandonment or at any rate serious weakening of Islam. But no Islamic state can be a modern state, and it is a tragic waste of lives and resources for us to even pretend this is possible.

I’m not worried. We can still convert or kill them all if it doesn’t work out. And I’d privately tell them that. They can go on pretending Allah and Shari’a are supreme while finding face-saving reasons not to try to enforce it.

We've got our own problems with a failed constitution. Let's worry about ours and let them worry about theirs.

This was G. Bush’s great mistake.

What made him think that these 7th century fools would ever behave like humans? They are Muslims so it is not possible.

More books are translated into Spanish in a single year than are translated into Arabic. And the biggest selling book in Arabic is Mien Kampf. After the Koran of course.

Real fine folks.

Amen, bro.

We need to straighten our own mess, then we can worry about the rest of the world. Meanwhile, we can play whack a mole when they get out of line.

Much more cost effective, less U.S. bloodshed.

I remember early on after 9-11, and the whole "war on terror" concept was put forward, that there was much comment about the whole idea. If you don't go to war against a nation that attacked you, but declare their religion one of peace, then you are left with little wiggle room.

I remember one blogger likened it to declaring war against Hitler's Uboats. Kind of like tying one of your own hands behind your back.

My son is in Afghanistan right now. I do believe we are fighting for the establishment of an Islamic anti American state. In cutting deals with the Taliban, Afghanistan is in a backward slide—especially when it comes to the horrible abuse of women and children. We should bring home the boys and leave with a warning: “If an attack on the U.S. comes from jihadists trained in Afghanistan, we won’t be back—but our bombers, drones, and anything else we can throw at you, will. Take care and good day.”

Our constitution is not a failure. The failure lies in allowing the leaders we elect to not follow it. Our constitution has few flaws, it is the flawed men/women we elect that are the problem. Therefore the solution is simple, replace the men/women.

Our constitution is one of the most brilliant pieces of work ever written.

My point on THIS particular thread was instead of worrying about another nation's constitution, we had best be looking at the absolute failure in adhereing to our own constitution at this time.

BTW, the solution is NOT simple! Replacing the men/women is proving to be difficult and requires years to accomplish, which frankly, I do not believe we have.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...it's all "Bush's Fault!"

More than 15,000 copies are sold a year in the USA. What's your point?

We are at war with Islam, just like we were at war with communism and still are. Terrorism is a tactic, you cannot engage a tactic except to make it obsolete and in 10,000 years it has never been so. Nazism was made obsolete by totally destroying the ones who carried the disease and letting the survivors be left with nothing but rubble. We did not do the same to communism nor have we done the same to Islam. Unless we learn this lesson we will either lose or be left fighhting these scum for generations. The early Romans understood this thus “Cartago Delenda Est”. Now our motto must be “Islamia Delenda Est” and “Comunista Delenda Est”. To do otherwise is simply civilizational suicide.

I’ve been wondering why in hell we are even partners with Saudi Arabia the biggest exporters financially to terrorism in Africa and the ME, and America and Israel. Buncha thugs with crowns.

Point is you cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

It is impossible to bring the Middle East into the 20th century. They want no part of it.

You have it exactly right. Most of the Islamic world supports the terrorists.....they just prefer not to blow themselves up. Rather let Abdulmutt do the dirty work.

When it becomes terribly painful for them they'll squelch the crazies. Not until.
