The Dark Side of ‘Ellie Light’ (Left attacks conservative 'gays')
Hot Air ^ | January 26, 2010

In case you haven’t heard, the Left has launched a smear campaign against the HillBuzz blog. I summarized the situation in an e-mail to a friend:

A group of gay men in Chicago who supported Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries bolted when Obama got the nomination, and have continued blogging against the Obama agenda at their site, HilllBuzz.

A couple of weeks ago, when HillBuzz started promoting Scott Brown’s campaign in Massachusetts (they dubbed him “Hottie McAwesome“), HillBuzz was threatened by the Left. And when they kept it up, they were then “outed” – i.e., their Internet anonymity was breached and they were identified in a way that jeopardized their day jobs.

An anonymous smear site, “BigotBasher,” named the proprietor and accused him of — you guessed it — RAAAAACISM. This smear was then picked up by DailyKos, Democratic Underground and other pro-Obama sites. [Kevin] DuJan believes he’s identified the smear artist behind this operation and is considering legal action, but outside of the conservative blogosphere, nobody even knows that this is happening.

This is the dark side of the “Ellie Light” Astroturf operation: Ruthless slash-and-burn attacks on anyone who stands up against the One. . . .

We’re talking about GAY MEN IN CHICAGO standing up to the Obama regime — kind of like that lone Tiannamen Square protester facing off against a ChiCom tank, really.

Hillbuzz talks about the nature of the attack and the nature of the attackers. Conservative lesbian Cynthia Yockey explains:

We MUST push back against FALSE charges of racism because Lefties will use it to destroy innocent people as long as it keeps working.

Certainly if we do not hang together on this, we will hang separately.

The Boss has blogged about this and Instapundit has noticed. Conservative bloggers like Donald Douglas of American Power are rallying.

It’s one thing for “Ellie Light” to Astroturf for Obama. It’s another thing entirely when the Dark Side of Ellie Light begins attacking private citizens for speaking out. Expect to hear much more about this story in the near future.

I thought the Left loved homosexuality and homosexuals? Oh, only if they stay on the plantation? Now they know how Thomas Sowell and Michelle Malkin feel.

Folks, I am of the belief that Hillbuzz may well have provided the essential effort that put Scott Brown over the top. I really believe this. I hope they’ll get some support from some FReepers.

“The enemy of my enemy is my friend”.

Of course we won’t all agree 100% with a group of gays that got out the vote for Scott Brown (and vice versa for the HillBuzzers), but we sure appreciate them and are happy to work together for a common cause when we’re both right. Good on you, guys.

I have no issue with having “conservative” homosexuals in fact I find it a good sign (they must have a brain). What I don’t agree with is that their lifestyle is “normal” for the rest of the population. They have a right to state their political positon and it just proves how intolerant and mean spirited the a**holes of the far left can be.

I've been visiting Hillbuzz regularly for some months. They were more energized for Brown, earlier, than we were. I found their site from a link at bighollywood.

They are Hillary PUMAs, outraged at how she was treated during the Primaries. I don't quite get why they like her so much, but I agree from looking at the caucuses that outrages occurred -- I got some personal stories about caucuses in Texas that would curl your hair. They are also fans of Sarah Palin.

The articles and posts are snappy, well-written and frankly fun. A very few have embarrassed me. They call Obama "Dr Utopia" which is a hoot.

Basically they are anti-liberal, and are a treasure trove of fascinating Chicago-scene gossip and insider knowledge. They are probably in some danger from the mob that operates--they say that the Dem frontrunner for the Senate seat is mob. They also have some tidbits from when Obama was a state senator.

That they are pro-Hillary and anti-liberal is a matter of cognitive dissonance, except that I could be found here on FR, pre-Palin, saying I'd rather have Hillary than McCain because at least Hillary is a known quantity that could be managed.

The insight into Chicago politics is very valuable. And I've gotten to liking the posters there.

One more case of the Hillary blues starting to surface. How long will Hillary remain under bammy while she watches her supporters being trashed by the bamsters? Bammy insulted Bill just yesterday in a most blatant manor. The Dems are uneasy, recognizing the Kennedy wing is dead and the heir apparent has lead them over a cliff, when do they start sending signals for new leadership? Will they wait until November or will they move earlier? Ever since the MA vote, I have been watching the Clintons. It seems as if bammy is taunting them on purpose. Does he really think the Dems can’t live without the black vote? He may be right.

There is a definite reason that the left considers “hypocrisy” the highest crime. It allows them to keep their own lack of morality, while still slamming conservatives for failing to live up to conservative morality.

It isn’t bad that they’re gay ... its bad that they’re gay and conservative (i.e. hypocrites). It isn’t bad that he cheated on his wife — its bad that he cheated as a conservative. TEtc., etc., etc.

I agree, they are fun. The cognitive dissonance has me puzzled too, but they’re generally a pretty sharp bunch.

I haven't noticed this. Would you explain it a little further?

And the fact that they are bullied by those snarling marxists just makes me mad. It would take a LOT of guts to be gay, conservative activists in a place like Chicago.

The HillBoyz DESERVE FReeper support, and the support of the support of anyone who trully believes in free speech and our First Amendment rights!

HillBuzz is written by a small group of disinfranchised Democrats (who are Gay), who were Hillary supporters/campaigners who witnessed first hand the blatant fraud in the Iowa Caucus(s). HillBuzz sprung from that.

The Boyz are 100 percent behind Sarah Palin (and her political future). One of the boys was beaten up for calling out a display joking about baby Trig’s handicap. They are kind hearted and respectful of GWB (bing “HillBuzz George W. Bush”—Rush even quoted this article!) and Cheney (they admire him for his support of his Gay daughter). The list could go on and on...but these young men are trully Patriotic and are currently putting their physical/financial and very lives on the line to call the Chicago cabal that is trying to destroy our Country.

Their efforts towards helpoing Scott Brown were monumental. As they have political/marketing experience they opted to “out” the 26 year old Cosmo photos (calling him ‘Hottie McAwesome’) to OWN the ‘issue’ and take it away as an issue from the Dems. They encouraged their readers/posters to phone bank and donate for Brown (remember his average donation was less than $70).

Trully, this attack needs to go viral, and the writers/owners of HillBuzz need our cyber support!

Oh yeah, their ugliness is beyond description.

They may have bit off a bit more than they can chew on this one.

This was effective politics and rhetoric in a way I would not have anticipated! I marveled at how it worked--such a thing in one's past as a conservative would be the kiss of death, but Hillbuzz didn't hide and defend it--they used it like a football and ran with it, daring the left to make a deal out of it, which somehow they couldn't.

Political thinking outside the box.

They had a remarkable essay about how George and Laura Bush spent a long, long time with the survivors and families of the Ft. Hood Terrorist Attack.
