They are Hillary PUMAs, outraged at how she was treated during the Primaries. I don't quite get why they like her so much, but I agree from looking at the caucuses that outrages occurred -- I got some personal stories about caucuses in Texas that would curl your hair. They are also fans of Sarah Palin.
The articles and posts are snappy, well-written and frankly fun. A very few have embarrassed me. They call Obama "Dr Utopia" which is a hoot.
Basically they are anti-liberal, and are a treasure trove of fascinating Chicago-scene gossip and insider knowledge. They are probably in some danger from the mob that operates--they say that the Dem frontrunner for the Senate seat is mob. They also have some tidbits from when Obama was a state senator.
That they are pro-Hillary and anti-liberal is a matter of cognitive dissonance, except that I could be found here on FR, pre-Palin, saying I'd rather have Hillary than McCain because at least Hillary is a known quantity that could be managed.
The insight into Chicago politics is very valuable. And I've gotten to liking the posters there.
I agree, they are fun. The cognitive dissonance has me puzzled too, but they’re generally a pretty sharp bunch.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Here's another applicable cliché:
