The past several years there has been a proliferation of football bowl games with sponsors of one sort or another that lead to awkward sounding names. For example, the Menicke Bowl, the Chick-Fil-A Bowl or - my personal favorite- the GMAC Bowl ( shouldn't this really be called the Stimulus Bowl or the Bankrupt Bowl).

How about the Key West Bowl? Problem is they would have to play without the Tight End.

How about the Yankee Bowl, played in Yankee Stadium? Sorry, that one is real and will played in the next bowl season and 2012 will give us another new bowl.

Is that the official name? It’s Big East v. Big 12.
I must admit I’ve never been to a bowl game. So I’m kind of looking forward to that if Rutgers or UConn or in it.

The Dallas Football Classic starts next bowl season matching Big Ten and Conference USA teams. I first saw where it wasn’t supposed to happen until 2012.
They used to have the Continental Tire Bowl in Charlotte, NC. I thought they should have put a giant tire around the rim of the stadium.
Isn’t that the Meinecke Bowl now?
Pretty soon there won’t be a team left that isn’t playing in a bowl game.
Some of them will start folding.
