This is the global warming version of the Pentagon Papers, when Daniel Ellsberg stole a top-secret study of American Decision making during the Vietnam war and gave it to the NY Times. A Hacker got into the files of the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (Hadley CRU) and released 61 megabites these confidential files onto the internet. What these files outline is a systematic cover-up of science disproving global warming the climate change moonbats.

According to the BBC, A university spokesman confirmed the email system had been hacked and that information was taken and published without permission. What was published is explosive. As summarized in the Andrew Bolt in the Australian Herald Sun:

So the 1079 emails and 72 documents seem indeed evidence of a scandal involving most of the most prominent scientists pushing the man-made warming theory - a scandal that is one of the greatest in modern science...emails suggesting conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more. If it is as it now seems, never again will “peer review” be used to shout down sceptics. This is clearly not the work of some hacker, but of an insider who’s now blown the whistle.

Fox calls the language in the documents “esoteric”. Bull! You don't have to know the meaning of every codeword used in Goodfellas to know that what the mobsters are talking about is illegal. You don't have to know all the details of the scientific language to see from the conversations that they are trying desperately to hide something. Hiding data is always bad for science. If they were hiding data it doesn't matter exactly what it was or exactly why. Their science is junk, their theories are junk and it is time to call them out on it.

Absolutely amazing. I downloaded the file and did a search on "Gore"....here's what it said in one email:

"Al gore and others tend to lean rather more heavily than is wise upon a single, rather bad one-page essay in Science for their contention that there is a scientific consensus to the effect that most of the warming in the past half-century was anthropogenic.

The essay was by Oreskes (2004), who said that she had analyzed 928 abstracts mentioning "climate change" published in peer-reviewed journals on the Thomson ISI database between 1993 and 2003, and that none of the 928 had expressed dissent from the "consensus".

Dr. Benny Peiser of Liverpool John Moores University subsequently made a more careful enquiry. Science had been compelled to publish an erratum to the effect that the search term used by Oreskes had not been the neutral "climate change" - which returned some 12,000 articles, but the more loaded "global climate change", which returned 1,117 articles.

Of these, Dr. Peiser found that only 1% had explicitly endorsed the "consensus" as defined by Oreskes"; that almost three times as many had explicitly expressed doubt or outright disagreement; and that less than one-third had expressed explicit or implicit agreement with the "consensus"."
