UN To Push For A Gun Control Treaty- Obama Agrees
secondamendmentfreedom.blogspot.com ^ | 11/02/09 | Sasparilla

In less than a year the U.S. government has gone from being one of the chief opponents of the proposed UN Small Arms Control Treaty to being a strong supporter. Elections do matter and have consequences.

As many predicted, the United States has changed its United Nations Gun Control Treaty position by joining other countries in the UN’s General Assembly First Committee on Disarmament And Peace, with a resolution calling for the drafting of an International Arms Trading Treaty. This Treaty, which will be up for a final UN vote in 2012, will regulate small arms, as well as other conventional arms.

This treaty will regulate production, supply, transfer, acquisition and storage of small arms by the end user, among others, all U.S. gun owners.

The UN General Assembly voted on a similar resolution in 2006, and George W. Bush instructed US Ambassador to vote against the resolution because he believed the Second Amendment would be infringed by such a treaty. The United States was the only country to vote against the resolution then, and the sole vote against a Treaty resolution killed a new Treaty. But, we have a different President with a different agenda now.

Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, believes that this proposed Treaty will be a strong one, and that the U.S. government was prepared to use a UN conference to support it.

The UN., in a 2006 Obamaesque “Myths and Facts” Press Statement called “Setting The Record Straight” about the UN and small arms said that,

“MYTH: The Conference is being convened to draft a global treaty to ban ownership of firearms.

FACTS: The Review Conference is not about banning small arms or prohibiting people from owning legal weapons. “ But, a 10/21/09 UN Press Release said, “Welcoming an arms trade treaty as a globally-binding...

Hussein Obama needs to disarm us because it is more difficult to enslave an armed populace. Let the Muslim Marxist send his thugs to confiscate my guns. Bring it on.

The failed UN has to go the way of its failed predecessor The League of Nations now.

We the people of the United States of America are pouring tax dollars down a bottomless hole with that outfit.

Can anyone state any legitimate benefit that has been derived from membership in the United Nations?

I cannot think of any benefits myself.

Get the UN the Hell out of the US, and get the US the Hell out of the UN.

Among other things, this would ban or severely restrict handloading by private citizens.

... “when loss of liberty is looming, as it is now - the siren sounds first in the hearts of freedom’s vangard”. Charlton Heston’s message resonates as inspiration to the hearts of all patriots. Whether or not you are a strong proponent of Second Amendment rights, this is a powerful message.

It is a "game" in a sense of the word, but a dangerous one for anyone who loves Liberty.

This is yet another step toward the imposition of world government by way of treaty obligation. Under international law, treaties supersede national law and oblige their signatories to enforce all relevant provisions by use of their domestic authorities. In the case of firearms, I'll let you dwell on what that would mean for us.

Worse, once a treaty is ratified, it cannot simply be renounced in the future - the other state signatories must agree to let another member revoke their adherence to it. In essence, any nation that submits to one of these agreements cedes a portion of its sovereignty; sign enough such documents and for freedom-loving people, it truly is: "game over".

Blue Helmets make wonderful colanders after receiving the proper Patriot treatment.

As does ANY helmet that acting under an unconstitutional u.n. treaty, whether it’s blue or not.

final vote in 2012? Well, we should be well on the rocks by then at the present pace. The Marxist snake venom coursing through the Republic’s veins, as we speak, will most likely have killed the Republic by then.

That is unless the anti-venom has been injected by the American people by flooding courageous, principled, Constitutional, patriots onto both floors of the congress.

It is coming up on High Noon for a Republic on it’s deathbed. The time for compromise is OVER!

If people compromise their vote in 2010 by electing compromising politicians it will come as no surprise when those polaticians compromise away their liberty and dollars.

It is time for America’s New First party!
It is time for America’s only true conservative party!
It is time for the Constitution Party!

Saddle up for 2010! We’ve got a Republic to raise!

To all of the “FMCDH” rhetoric:

No, they won’t come to your door to confiscate.
Thing is, your purchase/resupply options will evaporate.

Anyone looking to buy a new Glock? Beretta? Taurus? FN? HK?
Interested in C&R from ... well, any “new” C&R is pretty much non-US now, right?
How about feeding what you’ve got with Wolf? Aguila? military surplus?
Come time to repair what you’ve got, where are those parts made?
Really - what percentage of the arms market in the USA is imported?

Heck, the US doesn’t have to sign this treaty for major impact on us.
Get a few key signatories (Russia, Brazil, Germany, Austria, Belgium, etc.) and our options dwindle fast.

FMCDH - sure.
Remember that war is more about attrition than obliteration.

These UN-elected loons at the UN can pass whatever they want. Unless we here in America pass a Constitutional Amendment repealing the 2nd, this doesn’t mean poopie. The right to self-defense is a “God” given right. Since I already have God's permission; I don't care what libtards and their butt munches in the media think. If they don't like it they can come get my weapons... bring a lunch and some body bags, it's going to be a long day.

The Administration signs and ratifies this Treaty, I don't think there will be enough time for "attrition" to take it's toll.

This is a big ol' trip wire to a lot of folks out here in "fly-over" Country. There's a reason most calibers of ammo are VERY hard to find.

It's already here. The MA AG publishes a list of what guns you are allowed to have. The Legislature passed this treaty here in 1998. Unless we get rid of the grabbers in DC, it will come to your state.

Let your congress critters know that this is unacceptable and should never be ratified by the US.

“Gun control groups are giddy now. A Gun Control Treaty that would be legally binding on US gun owners is in the offing.”

Not only would most in this country NOT feel legally bound/obligated by this law, it’s passage could be the *major* tipping point for massive armed resistance.

How you like me now, UN?

Interesting how a spark in a sufficiently dense cloud of gasoline fumes does _not_ initiate an explosion. As such, I’m sure a tipping point may occur, but wonder that it may not have the expected consequences.
