Obamacare: An Epidemic Waiting to Happen
OK, WE'RE RIGHT! ^ | October 7, 2009 | Oscar De Los Santos and Kelly L. Goodridge

A couple of days ago, we learned President Obama’s rock tour for universal healthcare may have given his plan a tepid shot in the arm. 46% of Americans support it now (Rasmussen Reports, October 5, 2009, http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/healthcare/september_2009/health_care_reform). The week before, 41% of America said they wanted universal healthcare.

No matter. Consider that even after Obama’s non-booster shot, fewer than half of U.S. citizens want the healthcare fixit the president is proposing. We have the best heath care in the world and many who can afford it come to the America to get treated for ailments and illnesses when they are denied or put on waiting lists for treatment in countries like Canada and England. Logic says leave our healthcare alone, or offer real reform in the way of capping the dollar amount of medical lawsuit claims against doctors or allowing patients to shop for insurance across the country.

Unfortunately, the liberals are in charge of the funhouse and logic is scarce these days.

In fact, illogic seems the Washington D.C. rule and it’s highly contagious. We know that a majority of Congressional Democrats are fawning all over Obama’s plan in order to stay in the president’s – and House Queen Nancy Pelosi’s – good graces. There’s strong talk that some kind of plan will be passed by the end of next week, whether it’s the initial Obamacare version, the Baucus proposal or some amalgamation of the two. Bad enough that such a move has the backing of the Dems, but now Republicans are getting in on the act. Why not? What have they got to lose? Definitely not their healthcare coverage. In fact, members of Congress voted to exempt themselves from the great plan they've drafted for everyone else. Instead, they’re eligible for a low cost health care plan with their own private doctors and specialized treatment. OK has written before about this camp for the counselors mentality that is rampant in the beltway. If Obamacare is such a great plan, why did its designers vote themselves exempt? Why aren't they going to wait on line and receive rationed care along with legal taxpaying citizens and all the illegal aliens they want to cover? We (and ACORN) elect these officials to represent us, but instead of working for We the People, they're out for themselves.

Suddenly, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is lauding Obama for trying to provide all of America with healthcare. No surprise there, since the Governator is in charge of a damaged and nearly bankrupt liberal state overrun with illegal immigrants that fill its prisons and hospitals. And let’s not forget that Schwarzenegger himself tried to work out a universal healthcare system in California a couple of years ago. Let’s hope that other Republicans who should know better decide to stay off the universal care deathcart as it wheels by their territories.

Let’s hope, especially, that the follies imbedded in Obamacare and its bastardizations make everyone recognize the disaster of voting such plans into law. Those who are even fleetingly considering universal healthcare in America should first mull over the already existing shortage of medical personnel. OK has spoken with various doctors who predict that if Obamacare goes through, an increasing number of patients will be treated by physician’s assistants and technicians. Other doctors have told us they’ll exit the medical profession instead of taking the pay cuts. Yes, doctors make a lot of money, but they shell out a lot of it too, in order to pay clerical and medical staff and hefty medical insurance. Doctors have also told us that as in countries that offer government run healthcare, over-the-counter products in America will become available by prescription only.

Another issue to reflect upon: we'll never know what's in the healthcare bill that's being forced upon us because Obama's promise for transparency is nonexistent. We won’t have an opportunity to see what's in this monster that is designed to control us and suck away more of our liberty. Under the guise of helping all, this administration plans to power grab more of our freedom. If you're hoping that those voting on the bill will read it, don't bother. They didn't read the stimulus bill - that isn't working - and they won't have time to plow through this bill, especially if it's not even in its final form.

Then there’s the economic damage we’ll suffer. Contrary to anything the president and his minions promise, Obamacare WILL provide illegal immigrants with access to health insurance. Taxpayers will also be taxed on health care services and must pay for coverage. If we don't pay the price the government dictates for insurance coverage and medical costs, we will be fined up to $25,000 and in some cases, serve jail time.

And here’s where things get really scary: we’ve just learned of a major money snafu when involving the alternate Senate Bill on universal care: “On the tax issue, the Joint Committee on Taxation said in a memo prepared for Finance Committee Republicans that drug companies, medical manufacturers and insurers would pay $121 billion over 10 years as a result of fees in the committee’s bill. That compares with $92 billion originally calculated” (“Senate Health Bill Imposes $29B More in Taxes,” October 6, 2009, http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/06/b-taxes-senate-health/). That’s quite a tax error (leading OK to believe Charley Rangel must have been involved in the initial calculations).

The bottom line is that Obamacare is toxic. America needs healthcare reform, but not the kind that Obama is determined to push through in the coming days; not the kind of health care that Castro and other dictators force on their citizens. Wake up, America!

I’m having a real tough time getting past the notion that 46% of the American public actually SUPPORT this anti-Constitutional effluent. I’m reminded of an old quote, “As long as the government continues to rob Peter to pay Paul, they can always count on the support of Paul.”
Seems that’s where we find ourselves, today, and the number of Paul’s is on the increase.

It’s time to take back the country.

Shemp Smith starting pimping the public (government) option yesterday on FNC. Today, the whole network is pimping ObamaCare. It looks like the fix is in.

46% of who wants this boondoggle?

What makes a statistic? Who was sampled?

What do you wanna bet is was oversampled by people who pay NO taxes and this is just another bene, at someone else’s expense.

On his show yesterday, Michael Savage said that Obama adviser David Axelrod recently had a one-on-one meeting with Fox chieftain Roger Ailes. Savage predicted, as a result of this meeting, Fox News would start spouting the Obama line. Looks like Savage was, as he frequently has been, right on the mark.

I didn’t hear Savage yesterday but it does appear as though something is going on with FNC today. I wonder what kind of deal was made.

Shep is disgusting. He went on a long tirade yesterday on why we NEED to have the public option - he sounded like a shill for Obama and the 'RATs.

And now the media in general is promoting the "fact" that 40% (or is it 46%) of Americans now favor ObamaCare. We are living in bizarro world.

We MUST continue to fight ObamaCare!!!

This is one of the main reasons I have major respect for folks like Rush, Levine and Savage — and usually, Hannity. They don’t vascillate from their position. They don’t compromise when they know they’re right. Hannity can get a little slippery by inviting libs onto his program and allowing them to spout off, but his right agenda is usually steady. We saw what trying to go center got us in the last election. Now is not the time for wishy-washy displays and dealmaking. We must remain true to what we know is right and fight the libs every way we can.

Well, didn't Present Obama meet with Ailes and Murdock the other day? I know he met with Ailes, or so it was reported.
