by process of elimination it has to be A (and I cannot add 30 quarters in my head eaither)
As I tell my wife break the problem down.
Do 3 quarters first.
When you have the answer to that multiply it by 10 (add a zero).
You will then have your correct answer.
“(and I cannot add 30 quarters in my head eaither)”
Of course you can... There are 4 quarters in a dollar.
30 divided by 4 is 7 with 2 quarters remaining. That’s $7.50. You would have had ample time on that show.
If you can’t divide 30 by 7, either you have allowed your brain to atrophy over the years (easy to do) or you were a product of 1990’s and later public schools where they let you use a calculator from third grade on.
I went back to college in 1974 because I had a hard time calculating a ratio for a simple pigment mixture. I realized I was stagnating and losing what I had.
Ah, but I bet you could easily do 3 x 25 cents = 75 cents. Then just add the zero and, as Kelly Bundy says "urethra!"
