A surprising number of Americans believe that Barack Obama was not born in Hawaii, and that records of his birth certificate have been forged.
A thought occurs. If the forty-fourth president was indeed, as the “birthers” aver, born in Kenya in 1961, he would have been born a British subject. Perhaps his entire career is a clever scheme to bring the colonists’ rebellion to an end and revoke the Declaration of Independence..

Ha. This is actually quite interesting. Jaramogi Oginga Odinga was the first vice-president of Kenya. His son, Raila Odinga is the current Prime Minister. He’s also claimed to be a cousin of Barry Obama. Barry is also related to Dick Cheney. Talk about keeping it in the family.

Actually he is Tony Blair’s twin, but blacked up for effect. In speech, in style, in flummery, and in substance (or more accurately the lack of it) he is identical. The consequences will be identical too. He will leave his country more backward, more impoverished, more divided and lower in world esteem than ever before. Meanwhile all the lovies, all the utterly vile attention seeking Joanna Lumleys’ of the world will be eating out of his hand.
Hang on a minute. Has anyone ever seen Obama and Blair in the same room at the same time??

It’s been said before on these blogs many times: if he has nothing to hide why not simply produce the documents? It seems fair comment to me. But it’s not just the birth cerificate, is it? It’s also the total sealing of college/university records….Occidental in California and Harvard. Why? Did he decalre a different nationality at registration? Who funded his education?
I’m not normally a fan of conspiracy theories (911 truthers leave me cold) but this situation with Obama has pulled a lot of folks like me into the discussion.
And this is not going away any time soon….

I agree with you, except about Joanna Lumley, who I think has done a wonderful service to both this country and the Ghurkhas.
Whoever posted that, if you have no connections whatever with England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, you would immediately qualify for British citizenship, made me laugh. Thank you for that.
I’m sure there’s some honorary distinction we give, for people who’ve really done this country a disservice (outside our government, that is). Obama’s not there yet; but he’s not far behind Mel Gobson (sorry, that should be Gibson), Ex-President Keating, Jerry Adams, Hitler, Napoleon …

Its actually not an unreasonable presumption. By the British Nationality Act of 1948, it would be hard to argue that he isn’t. The case “Obama, the President of the U.S., Is Currently Also a British Citizen” was made by immigration attorney Mario Apuzzo in April 2009.
