President Obama abruptly interrupted today's White House Press Briefing to "do the job himself" and report his conversation with retiring Supreme Court Justice David Souter.

I was kind of hoping he was going to fire Gibbs on the spot, but then again, I would miss the circus clown in action everyday with the press corps!

Good post. They're just doing what the major media does in most commercials: make the white guy look stupid and incompetent- it feeds the racist's appetite by portraying weak, male, caucasians.

Well, that describes pretty much what modern WH press secretaries do. Personally, I think there's been too much emphasis on WH press secs, and some of the WH press corps ask questions that should be directed to either the DoJ or the DoD or the State Department.

It won't be eight years. This guy is bouncing off the wall and driving on the turf in his first hundred days. He'll raise so many yellow flags during his first term that even his team (blacks, liberals, lesbians, gays, etc.) will call for him to pit out.

We saw how Bush did even with a daddy as a former driver. This isn't a position for rookies or airheads with loads of ambition. I don't care what their pay grade is. Bambi doesn't even get a shot at new tires 'till 2010, and when he rolls in, the crew could be on a break.

Of course, this is just me, but I never thought that the press sec's job was to be the president's media clone. But maybe the job has evolved and I didn't notice.
