While we know that there have been 64 confirmed cases of swine flu here in America, President Obama is telling us that there is reason for concern but not yet "a cause for alarm." He might be correct or he might be wrong, dead wrong. As there is no way of knowing how bad things will become with the swine flu just yet. We need to look back on the past history of major scares and problems that the swine flu has caused America in the past.

I don’t believe I really know 64 cases of this virus are in fact confirmed as the news sources are the same that I don’t trust for any other news.
Look, they're not trying to look like hysterics, they are trying to hold off a mutation for a flu bug that has a rapid spread rate. The measures being taken are to slow the spread. It's a good thing.

The Mexican flu will get us all.
But....but.....I thought Obama has already rid the world of the threat.
My twin daughters almost died of RSV when they were babies, and that is why I am taking this swine flu seriously.
One of my daughters has a brain injury with epilepsy as one of the complications from RSV, and the other one has severe asthma. The one with asthma was on a ventilator for a whole month, and she almost had to be put on a heart and lung machine.
This was 12 years ago, and they now have a treatment at least for preemies, but only preemies get the treatment.

So far their response to a possible plague with tens of thousands of dead people has been to appoint a woman to HHS to oversea the government's efforts, yet her only medical knowledge comes to her from her friend who does REALLY late term abortions.
No doubt if the plague arrives as predicted, Obama is going to fire her but what will that gain him?
Frankly, once the people are dead it's the Obama Plague.
We also have the bizarre behavior of the other woman he's placed in charge of all domestic defense ~ she not only refuses to "close the borders" she failed to come up with a single reason for that refusal.
Whereas I could easily argue that we should send all the Spring Break people BACK TO MEXICO until this blows over, Napolitano seems to have been reduced to barking out "It's beyond our control".
So, what happens if the carloads of dead bodies pile up and the public looks back on that deal ~ with Napolitano claiming helplessness AND refusing to bother with "closing the borders" whether or not that would do any good.
I don't see an upside to any of this for Obama so far.
It won't be surprising to have him suggesting over the next few days that he see's a light at the end of the tunnel!
