Here is a video report on the killing of three Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania police officers today, as they responded to what they thought was a domestic disturbance. But it now appears they were drawn into a trap by a gunman who was waiting for them and wearing a bullet-proof vest. Two other officers were wounded and the shooter has been taken into custody. Neighbors claim he had been let go from a local factory recently, and had been worried that President Obama would try and take away his guns. . . . . . . (Watch Video Report)

This is just awful. My heart goes out to the officer’s families. How tragic.
Just another jerk wanting to end it all and but not having enough courage to do it unless they commit a crime so bad they see no other option. Only this guy, unlike the one in Binghamton, didn’t have the courage to finish himself off at the end of his show. The last I heard he had permits for his pistols but my question is how can an immigrant who speaks little English get gun permits, especially in NY?

Sorry folks this is tin foil hat stuff, and I feel is a direct result of children taking over the country. Same thing happened in the clinton years and resulted in the AWB.
Let me postulate why someone who was worried about Mr Obama taking his guns away, would let anyone know that he had guns, and would go after policemen instead of Mr Obama.
This is stuff that cannot be explained by logic. More on the level of Manchurian candidate, and will lead to exactly what this killer was supposedly afraid of. I deny that hypothesis completely. Keep in mind with leftists, the end justifies the means.

I believe you are correct. His mother (or whoever) called because he was acting nuts and he knew the cops were coming. He may have made the statement about the guns some other time in conversation but it had nothing to do w/his horrible actions today.

I watched the local coverage of this all morning. This is being twisted around to fit agendas...
The perp had some mental/anger management issues. He was kicked out of a private, Catholic HS; he was kicked out of US Marine Corps boot camp; he had (at least) Protection From Abuse filed by an ex-girlfriend; neighbors (on the street that this occured) reported multiple police calls at the house. Poplawski was a problem and was going to cause a big problem at some point, which he did. Today.
The gun grabbing/worried about Obama statements were made by ‘friends’ who showed up quickly during the stand off and went from local media reporter to reporter giving basically the same ‘statement.’ There is something (others here have also posted) not right about the two talkative ‘friends.’ Don’t jump to conclusions.
Perp had been out drinking the night before (reported by a relative); he got into some kind of dispute with his mom (she’s the one who called the police). He was ‘waiting’ for them when they arrived (on the domestic violence call).
Could these friends be anti gun/brady group activists looking to stir the pot then ?

The liberals are going to blame Bush, the Marine Corps, Corporations, and of course gun ownership, for the shooting, and not the perp.
