We had an officer killed by a repeat offender illegal about a year ago...his wife is suing everyone from the Mayor down I think. I hope she wins too.
National guard troops can be summoned by state Governor.
We can protect Texas without BHOle’s approval.
An illegal alien? Oh no!! Did he have a bad childhood? Would some midnight basketball reform him? How about a taxpayer subsidized home? Food Stamps?
I’m sure Gov Perry knows that, but maybe someone should remind him that he is the commander in chief of the Texas National Guard and the Constitutional Texas Militia. He doesn’t need The One’s permission to put his troops on his border.
Do you really think our govenor will send troops to the border. Perry is spinless
If anyone will this is the clown to legalize all amnner of presently illicit drugs.
I do not think you are right about Perry. I do not know him personally, although we grew up in the same county. I know his father, and was at the State Republican Convention with him several years ago.
Although I have my differences with Gov. Perry, I think if he is charged with defending our state from invaders from Mexico he will do that. Rest assured we can do that without U.S. troops. The Texas National Guard, law enforcement and willing citizens can handle whatever arises from the Border.
He has looked the other way about incursions into the U.S. by elements that appear to be Mexican Federal Troops, but I feel it is out of respect for W. The only reason that I can see that W would overlook this is to move toward a more unified North American trading block. Although I have some sympathy with that, culturally it is impossible to see Mexico with an open border like Canada. Too many systemic problems in Mexico. Mordida, corruption, drug cartels, ignorance, repression.
That's true, but then we have to pay for it. Still, it would be money well spent compared to some of the stuff the Legislature and the Governor come up with.
Ping!
I agree, Gov. Perry needs to shut the gate down there. The drug cartel is grazing in our area (S.C.) and other areas are growing... Gov.Perry's lack of actions are starting to cost other states money and man power.. He does have a responsibility over what effects his actions have on other states..
Maybe sending a bill to Gov. Perry might be in order. Extra work for L.E.
