I’m sure Gov Perry knows that, but maybe someone should remind him that he is the commander in chief of the Texas National Guard and the Constitutional Texas Militia. He doesn’t need The One’s permission to put his troops on his border.

National guard troops can be summoned by state Governor. That's true, but then we have to pay for it. Still, it would be money well spent compared to some of the stuff the Legislature and the Governor come up with.
