The above is an excerpt from this provocative short fiction I read a few minutes ago. The whole piece is barely more than two thousand words. It believe you will find it firmly belongs among the tea party discussions at FR.

Better to ask Dr. Porretto that question?

It’s an excellent story ending on a beautiful highnote. The only problem with it is it doesn’t mention the vast army of government-fed drones and sloths and slugs that would NOT be in favor of anyone standing up for liberty and the Constitution in America. That army of zombies would be a HUGE factor in any real sequence of events similar to the ones imagined in the story and would complicate those events immensely.

But as fiction goes, that was an interesting and enjoyable story to read.

Recall that FDR started out much like Obama - and he was in for a LONG time!

The link is a thread about a booklet (”The Revolution Was”) written 71 years ago about the New Deal and FDR. I have been pushing this thread (and there was another one) since before the election. It is a long read, but goes fairly quick as almost EVERY word is coming true again. It also seems fantasy - but it is real. And it is happening again.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/929392/posts

Excerpt:

Until it was too late few understood one like Julius C. Smith, of the American Bar Association, saying: “Is there any labor leader, any businessman, any lawyer or any other citizen of America so blind that he cannot see that this country is drifting at an accelerated pace into administrative absolutism similar to that which prevailed in the governments of antiquity, the governments of the Middle Ages, and in the great totalitarian governments of today?

Make no mistake about it. Even as Mussolini and Hitler rose to absolute power under the forms of law... so may administrative absolutism be fastened upon this country within the Constitution and within the forms of law.” .........

....The other side in each case would represent Recovery and that was the side the New Deal constantly held up to view. Nearly everything it did was in the name of Recovery. ...What we shall see is that in every case the choice was one that could not fail:

(a) To ramify the authority and power of executive government its power, that is, to rule by decrees and rules and regulations of its own making;

(b) To strengthen its hold upon the economic life of the nation;

(c) To extend its power over the individual;

(d) To degrade the parliamentary principle;

(e) To impair the great American tradition of an independent, Constitutional judicial power;

(f) To weaken all other powers the power of private enterprise, the power of private finance, the power of state and local government;

(g) To exalt the leader principle.

..... Where was the New Deal going? The answer to that question is too obvious to be debated. Every choice it made, whether it was one that moved recovery or not, was a choice unerringly true to the essential design of totalitarian government, never of course called by that name either here or anywhere else....

So, a sitting president can give away his/her office to *one more deserving* if they choose?

Those aren’t zombies, those are vampires; sucking the life’s blood of the living so they can appear to be alive.

Zombies are those who’ve had their brains to procreate sucked out of them; they may be walking but have no posterity of their own: the “undead.” Zombies come to envy others are not also undead and so demand that normal children be indoctrinated (brainsucked) in skool in all the “life”styles that would mislead the child to zombiehood.

But yes, you raise a good question. Whatever would happen to the vampires and zombies?

What a wonderful ending provided, of course, that the Israelis don't expire due to the efforts of their own leftists. It has always amazed me that a frontline state like Israel has a far left movement that may be even more deluded than that in the US.
