Netanyahu's Sharp Worded Response
Bijenkorf.wordpress.com ^ | February 11, 2009 | Bijenkorf

Even those who aren’t particularly sympathetic to Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, could get a good measure of satisfaction from this interview with British Television this week. I guess it can be attributed to Minister Netanyahu’s days studying history at Harvard.

The interviewer asked him: “How come so many more Palestinians have been killed in this conflict than Israelis?” (A nasty question if there ever was one!)

Netanyahu: “Are you sure that you want to start asking in that direction?”

Interviewer: (Falling into the trap) Why not?

Netanyahu: “Because in World War II more Germans were killed than British and Americans combined, but there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the war was caused by Germany’s aggression.

And in response to the German blitz on London, the British wiped out the entire city of Dresden, burning to death more German civilians than the number of people killed in Hiroshima.

Moreover, I could remind you that in 1944, when the R.A.F. tried to bomb the Gestapo Headquarters in Copenhagen, some of the bombs missed their target and fell on a Danish children’s hospital, killing 83 little children. Perhaps you have another question?”

I’m not a fan of his tendency to appease, but will give him election credit for that. TOTAL slam dunk with nuthin’ but net!

The only Republican candidate who responded fast on his feet, clear and decisively like that was Romney (I know a lot of people don’t like him on a lot of issues - but it’s the truth: We need a candidate who can SPEAK and keep focused. *Hear* what I’m saying.)

I totally agree. Was so glad to see Romney’s face on TV yesterday. Unlike most of our Republican ‘leaders’, Romney is not afraid of rude Democrats’ mouthy lies.

Perfectly said.

Your “name” suits you well.

Bravo, we need more facts thrown at these airheaded “reporters” when they throw out their lies.

Note to Interviewer: Do not come to a gunfight unarmed.
(I’ll bet there won’t be a long line of liberal msm reporters wanting to interview Bibi.)

I agree with your premise. The democrats have successfully labeled the Republican party as ‘anti-intellectual’ (e.g. Day Quayle is stupid, Reagan was stupid, Bush is stupid, etc., etc.). This has to be addressed. The best way to address this is by arguing publicly with hard facts, and to do it eloquently and with confidence, just like Bibi did. Every interview, and I mean just about EVERY interview, should be thought of as a battle in a war, and approached exactly that way. The goal when talking to the liberal media should always and foremost be to embarrass them into silence, and it should be done respectfully and with a smile. Palin’s handlers didn't understand until too late that they were in a war with the media. By the time they started fighting back it was too late. The hopefully short-term damage to her image had already been done.

Before passing this on I thought I should “Snopes” it.
Good thing. The original interview was from 2006 and referred to Lebanon, not Gaza. Still a good interview though.

Thanks very much for checking this out! Serves as a good reminder that it’s good to “Snopes” things before taking something for granted.

I’m glad the interview is “Valid”.

Obama has other leadership qualities, I will from now on refer to Obama as The Great Manipulator. He has the leadership qualities of Meyer Lansky, Lansky had Bugsy Segal, Obama has Bugsy Emmanuel.

This comment packs a wallop. I’ve never thought of it this way, but it really explains alot.

There’s no such thing as “past history”.
