Palin Ribbed by Montana Guv for Being No Show
ABC News ^ | February 20, 2009 | Teddy Davis

Montana Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer ribbed Alaska Republican Gov. Sarah Palin Friday for announcing at the last minute that she will not be attending a Sunday discussion of energy policy that the two governors were scheduled to lead at this weekend's meeting of the National Governors Association (NGA) in Washington.

"I don't know where she's going to be. You'll be stuck with me," Schweitzer told ABC News. "There will be no glamour, certainly no snappy dressing. I brought my best two pairs of jeans. There's a little bit of a horse shit stain by the knee. But I've been washing that stuff out."

Palin and Schweitzer, a rancher-turned-politician, are the chairwoman and vice chairman, respectively, of the NGA's Natural Resources Committee.

The panel is holding a 2 p.m. ET discussion Sunday on "Energy Infrastructure: Vital for a 21st Century Economy." The panel will hear from two energy experts: Pat Wood III, a principal with Wood3 Resources, and Jesse Berst, the managing director of GlobalSmartEnergy.com.

Screw him. Sarah’s doing her JOB in Alaska. She doesn’t have to go hob knob with anyone. Next time, move the meeting to Alaska and she will go. She already said she will ONLY leave Alaska if it is in the best interest of the people she represents. She doesn’t have to prove a damn thing to anyone, she is doing the job the people of Alaska HIRED her to do and she is doing a damn good job

Isn’t that the third major cancellation in the last few weeks? She needs to get her act together and do better advance planning if she wants to be a player on the national stage.

Good point. Our economy is circling the toilet bowl while Nasty Lugosi and her Democrat chums are hobnobbing around Europe and dining in Rome. When are people going to wake up?

Well that’s a first. A governor canceling a meeting at the last minute. Someone call Guinness.

And hey, that governor from Montana’s a real class act. Apparently he’s got bovine patty on his knees. He must have been beggin’ for some attention.

Sarah already stated that she will ONLY leave the state if it has to do with Alaska state business and in the best interest of her constituents. Going to D.C has nothing to do with Alaska, plus, you realize what a HUGE inconvenience it is for her to travel all the way to Washington D.C..its what, an 8 hour plane right, it isn’t worth it for her right now to travel so far away from her state. She is in Northern Alaska right now, assisting the people of her state. Alaska is her #1 priority right now, not running for President. If other Governors want to travel all over the place, that is their business, but Sarah is doing her job and will continue to do her job because that is what the people of Alaska hired her to do. Plus, you realize the uproar if she left the state, they would say “see she doesn’t care about the people of Alaska” so yeah she is damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t.

They’re so jealous of her success. Slick Willard is such a loser.

Sarah already stated that she will ONLY leave the state if it has to do with Alaska state business and in the best interest of her constituents.

Which is fine. But if that's what she's going to do, she needs to quit scheduling stuff out of state, like this, or CPAC.

Cancellations, absent an emergency, don't reflect a good organization.

With a hostile media looking for the slightest slip from her organization, she can't afford to be merely 'as good as', she has to be better.

Alaska is her #1 priority right now, not running for President.

If she is interested in running, she needs to be thinking about, and working on, both. The 2012 campaign is starting very soon.

so yeah she is damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t

Agreed. The media will spin it against her either way. So the issue isn't what she does, it's that she needs to appear decisive. And the cancellations don't help.

Hey! I’ve had Horse Shit stains on my knees before, but they came from leaning over my tractor tire to air it up after cleaning out the corrals....but then you could be right too, he is a Democrat.

I spent most of my life in Montana, and I can insure you the Governor is a first class Jerk. Some empty suit the Dimocrats drug up with absolutly no class.

Might be something brewing on the homefront that she needs to keep an eye on, like that big mouthed daughter of hers or that new little baby.
