[31 Jan 2009] by Steve Sailer ABC News has learned through San Bernardino Superior Court Records that the 33-year-old California woman, whose name is Nadya Doud or Nadya Suleman (she filed to have her name changed to Nadya Suleman in 2001-though it was not clear if the request was granted), divorced her husband, Marcos Gutierrez, in January 2008. Okay, "Doud" is both a British name (e.g., Ike's mother-in-law) and an Arab name. http://blog.vdare.com/archives/2009/01/31/immigrant-has-illegitimate-octuplets-who-are-these-people/

I am rarely for having the State taking children from a mother. The Grandparents in this case have assumed the burden of parenting which is as it should be. Keep it in the family and keep the State out. Cut off her welfare, but the State has no right to remove the children from this home.

I don’t like her at all. I listened to a quick spot on tv and she sounded very stupid. I can’t believe people are sending her money. I wish she would go away. The kids need to be taken away from her (yes all of them). She is a disgrace to the human race.

Yes, that doctor ought to be supporting the children along with her friend who donated his sperm. They both need to step up & help with these children.

He has special plans for each and every one of these precious children.

He had special plans for Caylee Anthony and Mary Yates, too.

Especially since that doctor now has a 49-year-old woman pregnant with quads.

I just heard about that.....I think his license ought to be pulled. But I would imagine he would just keep doing this illegally.

The sad thing is that they don't know what medical issues these little babies will have. I heard this kook on a TV show saying how much she loves her babies & how well she parents. I am sorry but I just don't see it. If 3 of the first 6 have disabilities then wouldn't they require more attention? Then to add 8 more babies to this...

I have six children. Five are in their 20's and I was always concerned that each got the proper amount of one on one time with me. With Sassy being 9 yrs old I don't have that worry thankfully. I am usually against the state checking up on families but in this case I think they are going to have to. She wanted the fame and now she has it. I heard she had to go into hiding at a hotel. It is a shame she has to hide but people are really disgusted about this.

She’s a tax subsidized loser who did something outrageous, and for this she gets fame.

Who knows what God has planned for these children? Perhaps tomorrow the mother will marry a millionaire who has longed for a large family all his life, and will provide for them...God does not make ‘accidental’ children—He has special plans for each and every one of these precious children.

IMHO if God had plans for this woman to have 14 children she would be married & having them the old fashioned way. Not using a friend's sperm. I don't think God came down & told her to get herself 14 children . I just don't think he did. And I highly doubt some millionaire is going to want this kook unless he is a kook himself. Don't you get the fact she knew the medical facts for these children were risky? After all she has 3 children already with problems. Prayers for the children as they sure will be needing them IMHO.

this woman reminds me of those people who hoard dogs, or cats. In her case, sadly it happens to be babies.

This is happening in Europe & the UK.

They are breeding like rabbits over there and taking over.

Just another jihadist at work in her own way.

(I heard she was one of those people)

Let’s see... workers comp “settlement,” though she is healthy enough to have babies... wonder what her injury was. SSI for three of her children and WIC for all of them. Seems she has tapped most of the lotto for the non-productive and if I had to guess, will use lawsuits in the future. Glad she’s in California where the living is easy.

...wonder what her injury was.

It's my understanding it's some sort of back problem.

She's supposed to avoid "sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time".

Mother of 14 ... no standing or walking? That's gonna work out well. ;-P

And how are these cosmetic procedures being paid for? Are we (the taxpayers) footing the bill?

That pretty much sums it up!

My prior post bears some explaining because many will feel that it's over the top.

No matter how you look at this situation there is a negative outcome in which someone is punished for irresponsible behavior. We can keep things as they currently are in which the taxpayers are left holding the proverbial bag to financially support her brood. We can cut off her financial support completely, in which case the people punished will be her own children or we can prevent her from having more children that will undoubtedly be placed in the public charge. To me the third option is the fairest because it places responsibility on the individuals reprehensible behavior.

I have another option. As far as I know, there is nothing preventing you or anyone else from donating to this scum. Other people will have to pay for her children. Do you think that is OK? Where is the sperm donor?. I was required to pay child support for my children. Why should this be any different?

The bottom line in my opinion that I do not believe that taxpayers should be financially responsible for this woman's mental problem. I have no problem whatsoever with people who are willing to freely donate to these children (I would not be one of those persons). That's up to them. There should be limited to no support for a person who obsessively has children with no means to support them.
