The Bush Legacy: Iraqi's Go to the Polls
Environmental Republican ^ | 1/31/09 | Scott

You haven't heard much in the MSM because they've essentially stopped reporting anything from Iraq save a large bombing. Even when they do report about it, it's with a negative spin. They're pissed that George W. Bush had the nerve to order the surge and give Gen David Petraeus the tools needed to win. They wanted a loss and once it appeared we were victorious, all reporting stopped.

I received an e-mail early this AM from an active duty military man saying:
Iraq is voting again, where is the Obama Administration and the MSM rejoicing???

Congratulations Iraq! A huge thank you to PRESIDENT George W. Bush and our awesome Military personnel!

It's going peacefully. There has been one shooting and we have heard no bombs in Baghdad. This is a huge difference from four years ago.

Some of our Iraqi colleagues have come in to show off their purple fingers. They are all reporting that their respective polling places have been peaceful and well-organized.

Wait until the community organizers start showing up.

To my way of thinking, this is all Bush's gain and blessing.

POTUS # 43, please enjoy your well earned retirement with my totally sincere thanks for your efforts in a very trying time.

My real fear is that Zero will throw the baby out with the bath water, then run to the brier patch.

What a great day in Iraq! How exciting for you to have been witness to every step of progress along the way.

Please give the Iraqis my best! I remember staying up all night 4 years ago watching the coverage of them voting.

Anyway for you to take a few pics and post them?

Under Tight Security, Voting Seems Calm in Iraq

###

Voters turned out early and calmly on Saturday for Iraq’s provincial elections, the first in the country for four years. By noon, halfway through the voting, no one had been reported injured or killed.

“We undertake this work because we believe that every human being bears the image of our Maker. That’s why we’re doing this. No one is fit to be a master, and no one deserves to be a slave,” said Bush to applause.”

“No President wants to be a war President,” he admitted. “But when confronted with the realities of the world, I have made the decision that now is the time to confront, now is the time to deal with this enemy, and now is the time to spread freedom as the great alternative to the ideology they adhere to.”

Anyway for you to take a few pics and post them?

It's nighttime now and those who stopped in (they were off work today) have already gone home. I didn't bring my camera to work and I was regretting it when some of our colleagues stopped by early in the afternoon to show off their purple fingers.

One of my closest Iraqi friends rubbed some of her purple on to my finger so that I could stand in solidarity with them. Then a bucnh of other Americans started doing the same and getting the Iraqis to rub their index fingers on theirs so they could have some purple too. LOL

It went so peacfully for the most part. I feel like I can come home now....but is there any work? ;-)

Thanks for that report. It gives me hope that the Surge and
George Bush’s policies were spot on and are doing what
was intended....making a democracy where only chaos reigned
for centuries!

Wow, great day for Iraq. It’ll be interesting to watch the media minimize the significance.

Thank you so much for sharing! Brought a few tears to my eyes. I sincerely hope they have become strong enough to govern, sustain and defend themselves with the nut job we now have in charge.

I feel like I can come home now....but is there any work?

It would be great to welcome you home, but if you tarry too long you may not recognize the place. I hear the new administration is looking for volunteers for the civilian defense force. ;*)

Starwise, thank you for the ping! I, too, watched a Fox report on the Iraqi election and how much safer it is there......and I kept thinking...ok, now say THANK YOU, GEORGE BUSH!!! But, of course, no one said that...I pray some of the Iraqi people will realize this.....
Yes, may God always bless our President Bush and our wonderful, brave military.
