If I was female, I’d worry about it. I’m old and balding now. So I’m not really thinking about growing hair to sell in a third world market.

Hmm, is there a market for back hair? How about ear hair?

“My hair is long enough to cover my breasts.”

OK, but does your hair also cover your knee caps?

I have long hair (not THAT long). Last time I went ‘shoulder length’, I gave it to ‘Locks of Love’.

Very easy to verify. The Chinese woman goes by Yueqin Dai... or DYQ. Google is very user friendly!

I had my hair finger-tip length for a while - had to keep it in a French braid all the time, or it would catch on things; I’d shut in the door behind me; it would tangle in about two minutes. Too fine and heavy to put up, so I was limited to that rope of hair hanging down in back, no variety for all the time it took to brush and braid. I’m not growing it long again.

I didn’t cut my hair for 13 years, from age 15 till I was about 28 years old. My hair grows really fast, as do my nails.

I had no problem with long hair, although mine is silky, straight and tangles easily. So, I had to keep it in braids most of the time when it was long (because it became a pain to comb out). It was, at one time, below my waist, about halfway to my knees.

I had to definitely pay attention to where my hair was when it was that long. I went go cart riding once, while my hair was not braided. While cruising around the go cart track, suddenly my head was jerked backwards and it felt like I had my neck broken, unbelievable pain. I pulled the cart over and realized I couldn’t move, as my hair (flying behind me) had become tangled in the fan belt of the go cart. It took the track workers a long time to get my hair untangled from the fan belt.

I noticed the same go cart track, after all these years, has a sign warning women to tie long hair up before riding.

Now THAT was an eye opening experience!!!

OUCH!! Dang girl, that had to have hurt like hell! Gave me the willies!! Funny, I grew my hair long from about the same ages you wrote about, and only cut it after my first son was born. The main reason I cut it was the maintenance time; I just didn't have it after he was born.

It was to my hips then,(not long enough to sit on, thank God!) and DH said it was one of the things he “noticed” first. (A red head with hair that long does tend to stand out LOL!)

Both boys are semi-grown now, so it is back down to my bra strap. I just think I don't look normal unless my hair is long-ish.

Mrs. RQSR has hair that when let down drops to her ankles. Been that way since before we were married 31 years ago. She hasn’t any problems with it. Doesn’t wear it down that often. Mostly rolls it into a bun on the top/back of her head. Looks good that way. Looks good when she has it down too. Easy enough to manage and keep clean, but then she is a well organized sort with a system for most everything.

*Please* do not donate to Locks of Love again. The usage rate of donations is only about 1%! It’s another feel-good liberal organization that is a scam. Even the President of LoL Madonna Coffman admits that the hair isn’t needed, but she doesn’t wish to take away the “warm and fuzzy feeling” that donors receive. Well, for some women, this is a major sacrifice, and all for naught. That sucks. God Bless, Bob
