Some European governments are doing their best to usher in the blasphemy laws of sharia. Just days ago we saw a Dutch Court rule that politician Gert Wilders should be prosecuted on charges of inciting racial hatred because of his criticism of Islam.

Being allowed to have public vocal criticism or opposition to any belief or position that comes to mind should be the staple of a free society.

In Europe, I don’t think Catholicism or any other religion enjoys the kind of protection from criticism that Islam now has. This is absolutely ridiculous. If practitioner’s of Islam are so confident that their way is right, you would think they would welcome any and all criticism, knowing that Islam, in its strength, will prevail. The reality is that they are afraid of any open debate as to the tenets of their religion. If you have the truth, why be afraid of open debate?
