Last week, Leo Gerard, president of the United Steelworkers union, threatened to foster riots if the $900 billion bailout didn't get through Congress. “If we have Republicans who oppose us, we are going to take to the streets, we are going to occupy places. We are not going to allow any more of our members’ lives to be destroyed,” he warned in a conference call to journalists over the weekend.

A new coalition of union welfare seekers has been formed that goes by the name Campaign for America’s Future (CAF).

CAF, made up of more than two dozen labor unions, 127 lesser-known economists and assorted activists, hosted a press conference call to announce the proposed $900 billion Main Street proposal, which the group hopes will be ready for President-elect Barack Obama’s signature when he takes office on Jan. 20.

Yes, it's all supposed to be legitimate and grown up of these folks lining up in front of Congress with their hands out for our tax dollars to be stuffed into their pockets to come together in a democratic styled coalition. But, as soon as a reporter seems to question these union thugs at all, the yelling begins...

Yeah. They are real legitimate folks to threaten to riot is they don't get our tax money stolen to hand to them on a silver platter.

My sentiments exactly...run wild and show what idiots the Unions really are, and why we should let the Unions go bankrupt, so the car mfg’ers can survive.

Go ahead and riot. You can’t do much more damage to Detroit.

Success is the best revenge. Instead of rioting, why don’t they start businesses, or become electricians or go back to school?

Oh, I forgot, that would be WORK.

If he (or someone like him) or his/their various thugs, for some bizarre reason, decided to “occupy” any of my properties, I would find it necessary to defend said properties using “every means at my disposal”.

If ALL property owners were willing to do that, then this sort of Horse-sh!+ would NEVER be mentioned/threatend by these low-lifes again.

If they want the fight to be beneficial to their cause and long lasting, don’t bring it my way.
Sickening.

Go ahead and riot. You can’t do much more damage to Detroit.

From some of the pictures I've seen of that place, they might improve it.

“If we have Republicans who oppose us, we are going to take to the streets, we are going to occupy places.”

What else is new? Unions have always used violence and violated property rights to get their way.

Can they ARREST Leo Gerard for inciting riots BEFORE it happens?

They are no different then the many many people effected by this crap so if they act like a bunch of idiots, I have even less sympathy then I did before.

In the end, WE hold all the cards. Just don’t EVER buy another American car. They’ll get the message...should have done it long ago, really.

Personally, I have NEVER owned an American car.

These guys held huge demonstration/marches in 1981-82 when things were economically bad.

Reagan ignored them and stayed the course. Coincidence or not, he was shot after speaking to the afl-cio union.

These veiled threats by union thugs need to stop- it’s dangerous. imo

Maybe I’m too sensitive.
