Why would Obama and Clinton include this line in a resolution for John McCain?

"Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside of the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President;" and

Whistling dixie. There will be no shocking overturning of the election. Obama is a citizen. He is president elect. Nothing to see here, move along. Live with it.

I think the reason they promote this resolution was because they thought McCain was the easiest Republican to beat and they wanted to make sure there were no problems about his eligibility.

Don’t think it has anything to do with Obama’s qualifications for office

Well isn’t that interesting. However John McCain was the offspring of military personnel.

He is president elect.

I don't think he becomes President-Elect until the Electors vote.

Just saying.

No one has said he isn’t a citizen. Natural born is the issue. do you have information others don’t?

I said as much the other day and got about a dozen+ hissy fits in response. There’s some serious denial going on in certain circles, and they’re waiting for an 11th hour salvation that simply isn’t going to come.

Someone posted on another thread that Obama personally tried to add wording (unsuccessfully) to SR-511 that included in the definition of "natural born" anyone born outside the US that had one parent that was a US citizen. I asked where this information came from and got no response. Has anyone heard this and if so what is the source?

Why did they put it in the resolution? Because they KNOW the O is not qualified to be president in more ways than one but this one is a doozy! Covering their butts for the obvious.

Because 52% of the voters have already kicked his @ss out of the way, thanks in part specifically to McCain-Feingold, but mostly to the fact that he is the type of politician who supports such garbage as that law.

Congress already declared McCain eligible for the presidency.

Why this now?

His smirky arrogance just pushing buttons.

Should have said eligible citizen. It ain’t gonna happen folks. He will be president barring some unforeseen event though I don’t wish for it. Even if he was born elsewhere and not legally eligible. No one has the balls to declare the election void. The repercussions would be enormous.

All members ofthe USSC will hold private discussions on this very issue.

So someone must think it has some legs, else they would have rejected the case outright.

A new twist is that hosp. records show that O’s mom had him in Kenya, no records found in HI.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a "citizen", but that doesn't make him constitutionally qualified to assume the office of President.

No matter how this case shakes out, Obama will forever have a pall of illegitimacy surrounding him. No less than half of the country will be convinced of this, no matter what any black robed men in darkened chambers decide.

Why would anybody take the Constitution seriously? I mean, it's nothing more than an antiquated old parchment, a loose "guideline" people can refer to when it fits their convenience.

Because it’s true? George Romney was born in Mexico. Lowell Weicker was born in Paris. Both were natural born U.S. citizens through their parents. Both ran for the presidency.

“Obama is a citizen.”
Being a citizen may be enough to be a Senator, but it is not enough to be a President.
O has spent tens of thousands of dollars to avoid proving he is a natural born citizen.

“…they thought McCain was the easiest Republican to beat…”
That certainly was the motivation for some of the six sponsors of the April, 2008 Senate Resolution.
However, there is now good reason to suspect that at least O had a hidden agenda.

The Resolution emphasizes being born aboard of “two US citizens”, and some legal writers were quick to opine the military feature is not essential.

Therefore, there may be an issue for O regarding his parentage. Being born to a Kenyan father in Kenya would be fatal to the natural born issue; thus, was born the possibility of him claiming US citizen Frank Davis was his father. Ergo, the “embarrassment” his attorney mentioned in a VA courtroom.

***********************************************************
STAND UP AMERICA! The presidential election is not over!
We voted for electors, not the individual candidates. The electors vote on or after December 15, 2009. The results are then presented to a joint session of Congress and objections may be heard on January 6, 2009.
See the letter on my About page hand-delivered to the local offices of my Republican Senators and Representatives. I urge you to take similar action, even if it is simply mailing a one page letter to Washington, D.C.

Sadly I think you may be correct. No one can cross him or his “organization” and remain standing. We have allowed “political correctness” to be used to avoid the truth on many matters for too long.

Uh-huh. Sure.

Now, why would 2 newly registered (since mid-2008) FReepers want to downplay the seriousness of Obama's illegal campaign for President...? Illegal because only natural-born American citizens can legally run for this office, and Obama was born in Kenya, then changed to Indonesian citizenship at age 6.

The best he can presently be is a "naturalized" American citizen, though he's more likely an illegal alien. So why would you 2 new "conservatives" want people not to take note of this all-important issue?

HMMmmmmmmmmmm....

;-/
