In an interview with Ma'ariv, Emanuel's father, Dr. Benjamin Emanuel, said he was convinced that his son's appointment would be good for Israel. "Obviously he will influence the president to be pro-Israel," he was quoted as saying. "Why wouldn't he be? What is he, an Arab? He's not going to clean the floors of the White House."
The Ma'ariv article also quoted Dr. Emanuel as saying that his son spends most summers visiting in Tel Aviv, and that he speaks Hebrew, but not fluently.
Oh man...I can just hear the Islamocrazies telling the press that Obama is a puppet of the JOOOOOOOS.

It’s not that Rahm is necessarily consciously against Israel, but he & Obama think that they can make gains by negotiating with those pledged to Israel’s destruction. In fact, history has shown that negotiating encourages terrorists to attack (i.e. The 2000 Intifada)

Including during the first Gulf War. And it won’t be popular here to say it, but that’s on my list of issues with Emanuel.
I really don’t care to hear lectures about the need for Americans to participate in a national service plan from someone who, when the US was fighting a war, headed off to Israel to offer his services.

Yep - Emanuel is just going to aid Obama in selling out the nation of Israel. By the time Rahm wakes up to that fact, it will be too late.

Either he will be good for Israel and Obama picking him is a sign that Obama isn’t going to hang Israel completely out to dry.
Or...Obama picked him because he hates Republicans and has experience, and Obama is going use Emmanuel and screw Israel anyway.
