Dem Operative Warns Voters
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 12 Oct 2008 | John Semmens

Posted on 10/13/2008 6:03:17 PM PDT by John Semmens

In remarks made on a CNN broadcast, Democratic Party strategist James Carville warned voters to “pull the lever for the Democrat if you know what’s good for you. If Senator Obama loses there’ll be blood in the streets. Under these circumstances, a vote for McCain would be the height of irresponsibility.”

Carville, you insect, what makes you think I would give unbridled power to people who threaten to riot in the streets if I do not?

How can anyone expect the same people to act if they are given that power? What is going to stop them then?

At least this way, the LEOs and National Guard will be under orders to stop the riots, and citizens will be on the right side of the law when they defend themselves.

I found the transcript and he said this:
“CARVILLE: Let me be clear, I said you can call the dogs and light the fire and leave the house. I think it sounds over.

Now let me be clear here, if Obama goes in this race with a 5- point lead and losing this election, the consequences are — bull, man. I mean I don’t think that’s going to happen, but I think David it’s a point to bring up.

But you stop and contemplate this country if Obama goes in and he has a consistent five point lead and loses the election, it would be very, very, very dramatic out there. “

Would you please stop posting this satirical crap? It undermines our credibility.

Take the shameless self-promotion somewhere else.

Close.

On a CNN panel, the “Ragin’ Cajun” conjured dire consequences to befall this country should opinion polls show Barack Obama winning — and then he loses.

James Carville, a likeable fellow when you get to know him, was so ominous in his admonitions they sounded almost like, We don’t dare not elect Obama president.

Carville didn’t come right out and say blacks would be setting fire to cities if the presidency were “stolen” from one of their own, but he skated quite close.

That’s sort of his rhetorical style, a bit like playing with matches in a Crazy Ed’s Fireworks warehouse. The sad thing is that Carville does have a point.

If you’re not black, try to understand how millions of black folks must be feeling in this election season. Whether right or wrong, with or without justification, many have convinced themselves for so long that they are marginalized beyond hope in an electorate that is predominately white.

Now, along comes Barack Obama. Who cares from where? He’s black, or at least one-half black, and this is the first time a black man has achieved a major American political party’s presidential nomination. Halleluiah!

As Carville spoke, opinion polls showed black Barack Obama beating white John McCain. Never mind that opinion polls are not always accurate. Never mind that even if they might be accurate they also can swing back and forth as Election Day nears.

Carville’s point was that if the opinion polls happen to be blowing in Obama’s direction the night before the election, not many blacks are going to take it with equanimity if more voters turn out for McCain than for Obama.

You can hear it now: Impossible! That just couldn’t be. Somebody must have stolen this election — and it sure wasn’t blacks who did the stealing.

Carville’s right. That is a mighty tinder box. Is America ready for the consequences of an Obama defeat on the heels of a winning prediction by opinion polls?

Carry it further. What if last-minute opinion polls show Obama losing — and, sure enough, he gets beat? Will frustrated blacks be any less outraged? What would those consequences be? Would the world, most of whose inhabitants are not white, be forever convinced America is a racist nation?

Suppose, regardless of what opinion polls predict, Obama wins, no matter how large or small a margin. How celebratory will blacks become?

What’s an Obama administration going to look like (and forget any implications of skin color)?

What kind of political associates will Obama be inviting into the White House as special guests or into key positions in government?

How many whites are going to take that philosophically and react with civility?

Plenty of McCain supporters are convinced, correctly or not, that Obama is just a five-letter word for socialism. Will an Obama victory be the dawning of the socialist revolution in America the far left has been panting for and working so hard all these years to bring about?

How soon will the masscomm egomaniacs fall out of love with this new administration? (And they will. They always do. The only thing they are truly in love with is themselves.) How will blacks respond to that?

It’s not a very pretty prospect any way you look at it. The world is about to see whether Americans are ready yet for self-government.

James Carville Hints at Riots If Obama Loses Election

CARVILLE: Let me be clear, I said you can call the dogs and light the fire and leave the house.

“Very, very, very dramatic out there” if Obama loses the election? That sure sounds like Carville is predicting riots.

Posting this sort of “satire” seems designed to make it easy for outsiders to make FR appear to be wingnut central. Enough.
