60 Minutes Scrubs Obama Transcript

Exclusive

During the 60 Minutes interview with Obama Sunday night came this question:

KROFT: But what is there specifically about you? You mentioned disposition. You mentioned disposition. What skills and traits do you have that would make you a good president?

Below is the transcript of Obama's ridiculous answer, which you can view to the right.

OBAMA: Look, I'm a practical person.  One of the things I'm good at is getting a bunch of people in a room with a bunch of different ideas.  Who sometimes violently disagree with each other. And finding common ground.  And a sense of common direction, and that's the kind of approach I think that prevents you from making some of the enormous mistakes that we've seen over the last eight years.

Now look at how 60 Minutes rendered it on their web site.

OBAMA: Yeah. You know I am very good at analyzing complicated problems. Hearing all voices. Getting all perspectives. And then taking some decisive action in terms of moving us in a direction that's gonna solve the problem. And you know, that was true when I worked across the aisle on issues like ethics reform, or nuclear proliferation. It's been true when I was in the state legislation, when I provided tax cuts to people who needed them. But also made sure that, as we were moving women from welfare to work
g
blah-blah-blah.

Quite a difference, eh wot?  It's obvious that somebody at CBS also recognized what an idiot Obama looked like, and tried to repair the record - which is what's happened to Obama's record since he was a baby.

I wanted the transcript to punctuate this account of how Obama caused yesterday's White House negotiating conference to go up in flames.  You haven't heard this version on CBS either.  Nor will you.  From Rush Limbaugh, earlier today.

What Really Happened at the White House Yesterday

Which is why Obama was so easily able to broker unanimous acceptance of bail-out legislation last night at the White House meeting.

Good catch, Roger.

CBS "News" adds to its long resume of outrageously forging documents!

Fake but accurate!

. . . It's been true when I was in the state legislation . . .

Even in an altered transcript he can't speak without a prompter.

Are you suggesting that 60 Minutes made stuff up to make Hussein sound more intelligent and "presidential?"

Why would they do that?

Isn't that like --- fraud?
More to the point, does that not constitute donation of network time and resources to a specific political candidate?
How much is that worth --- in dollars?

What an awesome display of the power of the MSM. In a single bound, they are capable of causing an interviewee to make statements that never actually came out of his mouth at the time of the interview.

I viewed the interview as it was broadcast, and I concur with you that Obama actually said what you show him saying. He did not say what CBS now shows him saying.

60 Minutes has a reputation to maintain. They are the news magazine of choice for Dimocrat candidates and nominees who are in need of having their campaigns saved. They could do nothing less than what they’ve done.

Maybe they got some “help” from the Obama campaign. After all SNL got some “Help” from Al Franken.

According to sources, ZerObama's characterization of himself contradicted what happened in the White House when he stood up before the Bail Out Committee. He banged on the table and condemned the Republican's plan. The meeting degenerated into a partisan shouting match. ZerObama lost control of the meeting. He was a zero.

Wait a minute, Rodger. I just went to the 60 Minutes website and pulled up the transcript. According to what I see there right now, they haven’t changed it from what it really was. Here’s the URL:

What the story, Rodger?

There are two different transcriptions on two different pages. The first is dated 9/21, the second revised and extended transcript, 9/24:

1. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/21/60minutes/main4463342_page3.shtml

Kroft: But what is there specifically about you. You mentioned disposition. What skills and traits do you have that would make you a good president?

Obama: I am a practical person. One of the things I'm good at is getting people in a room with a bunch of different ideas who sometimes violently disagree with each other and finding common ground, and a sense of common direction. And that's the kind of approach that I think prevents you from making some of the enormous mistakes that we've seen over the last eight years.

2. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/24/60minutes/main4476095.shtml

KROFT: But what is there specifically about you? You mentioned disposition. You mentioned disposition. What skills and traits do you have that would make you a good president?

OBAMA: Yeah. You know I am very good at analyzing complicated problems. Hearing all voices. Getting all perspectives. And then taking some decisive action in terms of moving us in a direction that's gonna solve the problem. And you know, that was true when I worked across the aisle on issues like ethics reform, or nuclear proliferation. It's been true when I was in the state legislation, when I provided tax cuts to people who needed them. But also made sure that, as we were moving women from welfare to work, that they had the kinds of transportation assistance or health care assistance or other things that they needed. You know, I am a practical person, somebody who, I think, can cut through some very complicated problems and figure out the right course of action. Now, there's one other element that I think is important that we need in the presidency right now. And that is somebody who understands what it's like to struggle. And understands what people are going through all across America. You know, I come from pretty modest beginnings. And I know what it's like to scratch and claw to get to where I am. I know, you know, what it's like watching your mom have to go to school and work at the same time. Or, you know, watch your grandparents live in a small apartment because they're trying to help the next generation. You know, I don't get a sense that the kinds of folks that my mom and my grandparents were, the kinds of folks that Michelle's mom and dad were, who were able to make it 20, 30 years ago, even without a college education, I don't get a sense that people in those same circumstances now feel like they've got those opportunities. And I think an insistence that the American dream, American promise, gets passed on to the next generation, that somebody's fighting for that middle class, working class, for group of people who have to work, and are working very hard but aren't getting a real fair shake right now -- I think that's what's needed in the White House right now.

"Isn't that like --- fraud?"

MSM prefers the term "fake but accurate".
