It took one hundred million dollars of Romney's personal fortune to waterboard Americans with Orwellian propaganda... Misuse of language like this cheapens the argument the authors are trying to make and also drives voters like me away from reading the column.
PS - I am no Romney fan.

>>>Human Events, ranked Romney the #8 RINO (Republican In Name Only) in the nation in 2005.They put him on it 2005 b/c they didn't believe his conversion on abortion. Yet they didn't include Guliani who openly supports abortion and was an obvious presidential candidate at that time. Which makes me think wonder how accurate the list was. (They left McCain off the list as well).
75% of FReepers figured out that Romney was for real. Not the perfect conservative but he passed muster. A bronze medal finish on FR in 2008 behind Fred and Duncan is worth more than an outdated Human Events list. Besides Romney won the actual conservative vote. Rush quoted a FR post that detailed the data that showed most conservatives voted for him.

McCain should start giving George Allen a 2nd look. I'm sure that the "macaca" comment is history now and has made Allen into a better person. Allen has gubernatorial and Senator experience, he's young, tall, and conservative.
I don't disagree with the author here, I'm pretty familiar with Romney's flip-flops and liberalism. Unfortunately for the author, if Romney becomes VP it'll be a blank slate, I could care less what he did in MA as long as he doesn't do the same nationally. And let's face it, Romney would be a fool to govern liberally if he becomes President, it would completely destroy the GOP. I just feel that Romney is still one of the few good options out there but if McCain can find someone better with qualifications equal or superior to Romney then it's all good.
To: Daniel T. Zanoza
And BTW - calling Romney the Republican version of Barack Obama is so disingenuous that it threatens the credibility of the rest of the author’s inconsistent and borderline hyperbolic article.
To: Daniel T. Zanoza
the same John McCain who Romney said during the primaries was "almost indistinguishable" from Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton... As usual, I disagree with John McCain.
Mitt Romney is a FAR more accomplished liberal than either Obama or Clinton.

I write a column for a newspaper, and I could never figure out how it could take TWO people to write a column.
Too bad they didn’t use one of them to fact-check.

Great, we are getting political wisdom from a supporter of the stretched-marked cornpone. Romney a "liberal", but no problems with the open-borders, tax-raising Huckabee.

This article doesn’t like Romney, doesn’t like Ingraham and doesn’t like Hannity.
Makes you wonder just who they DO like? Bob Barr? Barack?
