Are You Listening? Fred! Will. Not. Pander. (Fred at his best!)

. . . there’s the AP dog-and-pony show, wherein they ask the candidates stupid yearbook questions, instead of dealing with substance. Thompson’s responses, while certainly not pleasing to the AP (that is, they wouldn’t have been had the AP gotten the joke) were sure-fire crowd-pleasers to those of us who understood where Thompson was coming from:

What’s your favorite joke? Presidential debates.

What’s your favorite keepsake? Trophy wife.

What’s your favorite nickname? Mr. President.

What do you like to do on a ‘lazy day’? Campaigning.

This is hilarious. If Fred has the stones to write these responses to ridiculous questtions from the AP that belong in a yearbook, this is the guy I want negotiating with Putin. This is not American Idol.

Fred has some memorable lines. I’m not sure that’s enough to make him President, though.

I have been bullish on Fred Thompson from the beginning and will remain so until there is a reason to believe otherwise. I’m going to trust my intuition this time around.

Those are wonderful answers. They show Fred’s independence from the MSM.

Can anyone imagine McCain, Guliani, Romney or Huckabee giving those answers?

FRED THOMPSON (true consistent Conservative Federalist) - NATIONAL SECURITY EXPERT (I’ll do whatever it takes to stop the bastards, include water-boarding) - 2ND AMENDMENT ADVOCATE (arm all legal citizens and criminals will become more hesitant) - SECURE AND SEAL THE BORDERS (don’t give them sanctuary anywhere, don’t hire them, don’t rent to them, don’t give them credit, don’t give them rights they don’t deserve, report all crimes committed by them, they will go home or we will deport them) - LAW AND ORDER (enforcement first and foremost with the laws currently on the books) - SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM (reform a program that can’t sustain itself and will bankrupt this nation) - DEFEAT THE DEMOCRAT (any fool they put up) – TAX SIMPLIFICATION (choice for the tax payer) - WON’T PUT UP WITH CRAP FROM THE MSM (including stupid questions by moderators and the MSM) - PING!

America has serious problems and this is the type of question that is asked? What does that tell you about our society?

Yep, people have to prefer leadership over electability, which I do and I think most Americans do, so in the end, I think leadership equals electability.

The other top tier candidates on the Republican side are paper dolls. One good gust of wind and they have no idea where they will land. Or if they will land.

And all the Democratics candidates seem like paper dolls that a big drooling dog got a hold of. Kind of a huge gooey mess and you can’t really tell one from the other nor what they pretend to stand for. And I’m pretty sure parts are missing because the dog swallowed some of the before he spat them out.

Fred needs to come on because he is probably the only candidate that the corporate conservatives and the social conservatives can both get behind. Without him, and we are going to end up with Guiliani or Romney (with the social cons sitting out and handing the election to the Dems), or Huckabee (with the business cons holding back and handing the election to the Dems).

I really don’t see what the others have that will make them President. The current top three are pretty lame. Two are not fiscal conservatives and one is an out and out liberal on social issues. All three are ready to follow sniffing after Al Gore to the tune of Climate Change. Rudy with his escapades and liberal social values, Mitt with his illegal aliens and Massachusetts Universal Health care, and Huckabee wanting to lift the Cuban embargo and raising taxes more than Bill Clinton ever dreamed in Ark. Are these Republicans? If they are maybe Hillary would make a better President at least we could fight her with honest vigor.

Fred and John McCain are about the only two left that aren’t out right embarrassments. Yes I said John McCain. I’m really surprised at that. I know only one candidate that has all of the criteria for a conservative candidate and that is Thompson. Alan Keyes does too but Keyes is well Keyes.
