She reminds me of a former roommate, a recent college graduate, who told me all about the “horrible things” we did to the Japanese in World War II.
When I told her about the atrocities committed by the Japanese, she stared at me quizically, then mumbled, “Oh.”
She’s probably getting her political and historical philosophy from college professors who either think that the extermination of the Kurds didn’t matter or didn’t happen. I hope that’s not true, and she’s just ignorant. Ignorance can be cured; brainwashing is harder to fix.
