The historic steps are known to the cultured as the walkway to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, but to the average American they are the “Rocky Steps.” Find out what inspires the many people who run the Rocky Steps in this book published by Paul Dry Books.
Pulitzer Prize-winners Michael Vitez and photo- grapher Tom Gralish of the Philadelphia Enquirer deliver real-life stories of regular people who run the steps for their own personal reasons. Vitez and Gralish spent a full year observing various people who thrust their arms in victory in the same spot as Philadelphia’s favorite son, Rocky Balboa.
Rocky Stories features a motivating foreword by Sylvester Stallone and details 52 tales of visitors from around the world. An actress, a wedding party, businessmen, children, a hip-hop star and a Rocky impersonator are just some of the subjects. Each person is interviewed after they enjoyed their piece of the Rocky pie. Rocky Stories’ publication coincides with the release of the sixth installment of the Rocky film franchise, Rocky Balboa, in theaters on December 20th.
