Hello folks,
Sorry that this message isn't a notification of a new parody, but I figure this is a necessary note to send. The long and short of it is this: after three years as Butcher of Sacred Cow Burgers, I have decided to hang up my cleaver. I figured I should let you all know why.
Foremost in the making of this decision is a very happy turn of events: I am going to be a father. My wife informed me of this miraculous news just days before Father's Day of this year.
The responsibility of becoming a parent is not one I take lightly. In short, my waking hours are now wholly dedicated to my family in every way. Doing political parodies for Sacred Cow Burgers has a been fun hobby, but it takes up far too much of my free time and has never been intended as a source of income. Thus, I'm hanging up my cleaver and putting away the butcher's block.
I want to thank you all for your interest in my work and especially for the outpouring of support that so many of you gave during my bout with cancer and other health issues in the past two years. I am happy to say that, thanks to your prayers, my health has vastly improved over the past six months. I now work out seven times a week and feel stronger than I have in many years past. My lungs are clear, my heart is strong, my mind is sharp, and my eyes are...well, three outta four ain't bad.
In closing, I send my best wishes to all of you. I've enjoyed making parodies for you folks, and appreciated your input and support over the years. I've had a good run as your Butcher, but now it's time for me to be a full-time family man. Thank you all and God bless.

I understand your need to get your priorities in order and I applaud that. But you have to admit how much fun you had making some of those parodies. Don't stop doing it, just do it for fun when you have time. And you'll know when you need to do one. From time to time some person or some group will be just begging for you to nail them with one of your precision guided parody missiles and you'll rack one up and obliterate them.
Jay, thanks for all the laughs. We will miss you greatly. You've made a very worthy choice. Hope you are able to come back in a few years.

Ah, that is bad news. (the quitting part)
Such artistry and such an incisive and insightful mind.
Hope when time and situation allow it you can take up the reins again....

1) Congrats on the impending arrival!!
--As a veteran producer of offspring, may I suggest that you and your wife take some time to cook and freeze some *tasty* meals as the blessed day approaches. Raising newborns can take up more time and sleep than you know, and having good food now and again (instead of 'something quick') can really help.
2) I'm sorry, I didn't know about your cancer. Congrats on beating it, and on your daily workouts.
3) DASH IT ALL, your wit will be missed. Can you please arrange with some other Freeper or a website to archive your works?

I always feel good when I see your handle on FR. First and foremost, means you're doing OK. And of course all those memories of classic parodies. Now you're expanding your family and that is awesome.

i know how it is, making the chops does take a long time... i have removed my site also because it was taking ALL of my time.. now every great once in awhile I will make a parody IF i feel like it then i will send the picture to pookie18 for the Todays Toons, now I dont feel pressured to always make more and keep the site current... I hope all goes well with everything
