Great Promise That Never Materialized.

There was an extremly talented, and versatile actor in the 1970's, whose early promise at super stardom never materialized. Although he was highly touted, and recieved tremendous atttention when he first exploded on our TV screens in the mid 70's, other young actors, with much less talent, sailed past him career-wise.Not only was he a talented actor, but a great comedian and vocalist, as well. He was the real force in the creation of the Happy Days Dynasty, with all of its highly sucessful spin-offs. I am speaking, of cours, of Anson Williams, the unfufilled superstar. His perforamce as Pottsie Weber, deceptively moronic, but truly inspiational, still is a show stopper. His renditions of the Sweet Heart Of Sigma Nu, and The Most Beautiful Girl in The World stlll can bring a tear to the eye. Unfortunately, in later shows, he was reduced to doing or doing something completely idiotic for two minutes, and then leaving the story-line. This always irked me, so I am writing a book entitled, "Anson Wiliams, Where Did It All Go So Wrong".I will answer the questions-- Was it the jealousy of the other actors that humbled this talented performer? When Joanie and Chachi were given a spin-off "Joanie Loves Chachi", why wasn't Anson given his own spin-off, "Pottsie Loves An Inlatable Doll." The show was in development, why was it scrapped. This talented actor, after all, could have played a 43 year - old high school senior, forvever. For the first time I reveal how the producers of Laverne and Shirley considered reviving that once major hit by including Anson in the cast. The new show would have been called "Laverne, Shirley and Pottsie, A Three Way". I also reveal that apparently the two actresses vetoed the idea because Anson would have been allowed one vocal number per show, and would have upstaged their pal Eddie Mekka. Ever wonder why he didn't become the major force in Hollywood that Ron Howard did? Why didn't Howard use Williams instead of Russell Crowe in "A Beautiful Mind".? Interesting questions that rip the lid off of savage Hollywood.
