Paris Landmarks Targeted
Conservative Thoughts ^ | November 12, 2005 | John Kuethe

The riots in France continue as the “disaffected youths” continue to burn the communities surrounding Paris. The Main Stream Media in the US continues to avoid the story, likely because France has long been viewed as the Liberal Utopia of Socialism at its best. The fact that this has now gone into its 16th night might lead reasonable people to believe that this is more than just some misguided “youths” venting frustrations about high unemployment in a country with one of the most generous welfare systems in the world.

French Police have now invoked emergency powers and implemented a ban public on meetings in Paris, amid rumors of plans to bring France's suburban violence into the heart of the capital. The ban came into force at 10:00 am. (0900 GMT) Saturday and lasts till Sunday at 8:00 am. (0700 GMT), prohibits "all meetings likely to start or fuel disorder."

There is no explanation as to how they will determine which meetings will be likely to “start or fuel disorder”. I sincerely doubt that organizers of such “meetings” will be booking conference rooms for them to be held in. Next on the possible list of targets are the monuments and landmarks of Paris. . .

I think the French Muslims are angry that they don't have the hopeful future that the Iraqi Muslims have.

Also, the Christian men in charge of France thought it was "Okay" for the US troops to liberate them 2 times, but didn't think the US should free the Muslims folks of Iraq.

Do the French leaders think that people of European ancestry deserve liberation more than Muslims do?

I don't know how one could do any damage to the Eiffel Tower with a firebomb.

The following was an excellent post of yours. Bears repeating...

The French thought it was fine for US troops to free France two times, but didn't think it was okay for the US troops to free Iraq.

Are the French leaders racists who only think Europeans deserve self-determination? Do French Muslims wish they had a bright future like the Iraqi Muslims do?

I don't think it is a coincidence that the riots began within 2 days of the official approval of the Iraqi constitution.

France needs to bring in the military or call for help as they have so many times in the past.

I doubt that other European nations will want to help, lest the same happen to them (which it will anyway).

True perhaps, but you never know.

The Eiffel Tower is HUGE when you get right next to it.

The Eiffel Tower is Wonderful, a great structure and folly as the English call them. It's a wonderful useless thing except as a symbol and magnet for billions of dollars in tourist income for France.

I was criticized heavily for suggesting that if Islamofascist terrorists blew up the tower that maybe that would wake the French and Europeans up.

In fact the Eiffel tower was built for a World's fair to sell the potential of structural steel. Erector set ios a very apt description. Later, they kept it because they liked it.

No criticism here. Europeans still think it is a domestic sqaubble. They are letting it grow out of control.

No coincidence, it is being orchestrated by Al Qaeda. The Australian terror cell was probably going to strike at the same time.
