My Letter To The Hartford (Commie) CT Courant On The Paris Situation
Self | November 5, 2005 | Self

Your A2 AP story "Rioting Spreads Outside Paris" had factual errors, distortion, bias, and some outright lies.

Here they are, for the record:

(1) The word "Muslim" was not mentioned until the last paragraph. Since it is the most important fact in the story it should have been in the headline and first paragraph. That is called bias.

(2) Paris "impovershed" neighborhoods have immigrants with incomes many times higher than they had in their previous homelands of Algeria, Morocco, etc. That was why they immigrated to France. Welfare or menial jobs in France are much better than most jobs in North Africa. That was not mentioned in your article.

(3) The "poor housing" has been shown on the cable channels. It looks structurally sound, and looks like the French government built it, subsidized it, and regulated it. Compare that to housing in Algiers and it is clear the immigrants are living in luxury by comparison.

(4) There is a major unemployment problem in France. That needs at least some explanation. The unemployment is due to union and government monopolies in the industrial sector and protectionist trade policies. If you didn't have a lot of space a one word description would have done the job. The word is....socialism.   It would have been nice of you to mention that.

(5) The article neglected to mention that the Muslims have literally occupied parts of the Paris suburbs and declared them independent Muslim areas (you know, like Palestine).   Their beef with the French government is that the police entered their emerging sovereign nation. The Muslims want a ring around Paris. Then they can take the city at some future date. There are many experts available to enlighten you on this point.

(6) The article neglected to mention that many of these immigrants are in fact second and third generation, speak excellent French, but have been recruited by radical Islam and have decided that France belongs to them instead of white French folks.

(7) The article neglected to mention the name and ethnicity of the woman on crutches--ditto for her attackers.

(8) "Unrest" and "rioting" is distortion. This is a para-military operation and is designed to test the will and capability of French authorities.

(9) "Deep discontent" is a distortion. Is the lion discontented before he eats you? Hungry?   Perhaps.   Full of Anticipation? Definitely.     I looked into the eyes of these "rioters" on TV. I didn't see any discontent. I saw joy--as one civilization takes its first baby steps to conquer another.

(10) The French government is treating the Muslim insurgents (that is what they are,by the way) just like they treated Hitler during the early days of World War II.   First they tried appeasement, then they tried the Maginot Line. Old habits die hard.   You should report this basic history and its connection to the present.

(11) The French government has been opposing US and Israeli policy in the Middle East in an effort to appease a Muslim population that is now 10% of the country due to a liberal immigration policy.   While they whined about Israel it now turns out they have an Interfada of their own.   Ironic, eh?   This is a great angle, n'est ce pas? -----

C'mon, hold your nose. Put your political correctness on hold. For once, cover a story with some truth and depth and class.

------

Edward Zehr--RIP--1936-2001-- "In the mind's eye of the surfer, his daily newspaper must look very similar to those French newspapers published during the German occupation , with large blank spaces where the censor had excised articles considered a bit too sensitive for public consumption."

The liberal media is just like the French government--so tied in knots by political correctness they have to keep lying to cover up their last lies.

That is an excellent letter to the editor. Let us know if they have the guts to publish it. I give odds of 99-1 against that. There is entirely too much truth in your letter for the Hartford Courant to dare publish it. Their paper would catch fire and burn, doncha know?

Your letter is excellent, and that is why it will never be published. It does not fit the agenda and there are no "Bush lied, people died" phrases in it. Ever notice how PC goes right out the window when they are questioning a Republican? I.E. "Sloppy seconds."

I am convinced that "journalists" are the stupidest people around. Which is one of the reasons news conferences have them all asking the same question only using different words. They are totally incapable of thinking independently and are completely mired in "group think."

I have this morning's Hardly Courant and I don't see your letter in it. I don't think it will be there tomorrow or the day after. For that matter I don't think they employ anyone who can both read and understand such clarity of thought and integrity of purpose.

Pravda on the Connecticut has a long (published continuously since 1764) history but it is no longer a proud history.
