Evening Star...or Star and Crescent?

Prior to Friday morning, I had never heard of DC area radio station WMAL's Michael Graham. In fact, I have never tuned in to that station at all.

Seems that Graham, a talk-show host, was suspended yesterday for repeatedly describing Islam as a "terrorist organization" on his program.

Graham said he has been ordered off the air without pay for an indefinite period while the station investigates the comments that drew complaints from the Islamic terror apologist group Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

I agree with Graham's statement. Islam is a religion of hate, subjugation, and death. So far, I have heard no Muslim deny Sura 4:91, which says, “Whom God leads astray, thou wilt not find for him a way. They wish that you disbelieve as they disbelieve, and then you would be equal; therefore take not to yourselves friends of them, until they emigrate in the way of God; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them, take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper …”

Or, this little gem, Sura 47: 4-5, which says, “When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks, then, when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds; then set them free, either by grace or ransom, till the war lays down its loads.

Remember the throngs of dancing, ululating savages in the Middle East after 9-11? This is, apparently, WMAL's newest demographic. What could possibly make WMAL, with it's line up of conservative personalities, change directions so suddenly? CAIR has urged it's foot soldiers/sleepers to inundate the station and it's advertizers with complaints about the host.

Muslims in America may be literate enough to send an email, but economically, they are still in the minority. WMAL would scarcely notice if Muslim listeners stopped patronizing it's advertizers - but they would notice if everyone else did. If you plan - of your own accord, of course - to take a vacation from WMAL and it's advertizers, I urge you to let them know. Their phone number is 202-686-3100, or, you can pay a visit to their contact page.

Would this be considered hate speech?

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.
