On Contemplating a Citizen's Arrest of Christine Gregoire and All Her Alleged Co-Conspirators - (vanity/Op-Ed essay)

The reported evidence indicates--and majority public sentiment reflects--the conclusion that Christine Gregoire and her "recounting" goons have fraudulently "won" the Washington gubernatorial election in violation of civil and/or criminal codes. Christine Gregoire obviously has little desire to be a true public servant: she seeks power, not the opportunity to serve. The Democratic Party in the State of Washington are scoffing at the rule of law and are trying to thwart the will of the people--in particular the deliberately disenfranchised military, who are overseas fighting for freedoms that some here take for granted--or too readily surrender.

The story of Huey Long of Louisiana comes to mind, later made into a movie entitled, "A Lion In The Streets." The Tammany Hall gang a century ago in New York City comes to mind, as does the more recent Daley machine in Chicagoland. And there was the Battle of Athens, Tennessee in the 1940s.

BUT this is 2005. Will a slumbering Gulliver doze back off to sleep or will the Slumbering Giant of the People rise up and throw off the not-so-Lilliputan chains of encroaching tyranny? Will an informed online populace accept these chains, then crouch down to live not as Citizens--but as humble serfs, drones, 1984 Ministry of Truth minions--in the Evergreen State?

Will you, Washington Citizen, succumb to apathy and resignation, or will you find courage in righteous indignation and the sheer WILL OF THE PEOPLE to accept the short-term inconvenience of rising up and DEMANDING JUSTICE in this? There is a rising up of anarchists against those in power--and we must not have that!--but there is a rising up of the PEOPLE against anarchists grabbing power!--and the time is now!

One Nation, Under God--but by God!--will the people of the Republic For Which It Stands--stand for this? Or will the citizenry rise up--in Righteous Indignation and not in anarchy or violence--against tyranny?

Jefferson said, "...the tree of Liberty must be watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

I pray that ill-tended Tree be not so thirsty that such be required at this time.

Though I am disgusted at the actions of the Stalinist pigs, I see something good has come from their actions.

You are finally seeing them for who they really are.

Obviously, I have felt this way for some time now. Note the sign in the background.

Problem is, you've got all those staters.

I thought about this too - just a bayonet charge up there and let loose today and take the law into our own hands.

Not going to happen.

When we were leaving yesterday. In the car heading for the freeway, a guy seeing our revote signs on the car, rolled down his window screaming expletives and giving us the one-finger salute.

I just smiled and gave him the three-finger "W".

Republicans won the war, why get hysterical trying to refight a skirmish, especially when the Republican SoS did his best to follow the letter of the law?

Because it is generally a good policy to confront and stand against evil whenever and wherever you encounter it. Running away always encourages evil. If people had paid attention to Hitler at Nuremberg, we might, just might, have been spared 50 million or so deaths.

Gregoire and the 'Rats stole this election in the most brazen, in-your-face manner possible. If we don't confront evil and unfairness when it is present before our eyes, in the light of day, can we lay any claim to being able to fight it anywhere? There are a few good conservatives left in the state of WA. They are outgunned and outnumbered but are doing their best, within the rules, to stand up for themselves, their beliefs, and their candidate. For that, they deserve our support and encouragement, not denigration.

"Ms. Gregoire I know this is going to be difficult for you but you have the right to remain silent..."

She sure wasn't silent during her coronation speech today. It was all about SPENDING, and more spending.

Our state is really screwed if we don't throw her out.

Gregoire and the 'Rats stole this election in the most brazen, in-your-face manner possible.

One problem with the election system in its current form is that many people don't mind having their election officials cheat in their favor. The people who object to election officials' behavior aren't in a position to vote for or against those officials, so the officials don't have to worry about what they think.

I would therefore suggest this for a reform:

  1. Require each precinct to keep its ballots and tallies separate and never co-mingle them. Use machine-separable ballots for different precincts to prevent accidental comingling (if two precincts have ballot boxes at the same polling place, program the ballot boxes to reject ballots for the wrong precinct).
  2. Explicitly state in law that if the total number of 'fishy' ballots in precincts which gave the majority of their votes to the election winner exceeds the winner's margin of victory, the loser may demand a revote.
  3. If a revote is required per (2), the costs of it shall be assessed to election officials' sponsoring jurisdictions in proportion to the total number of fishy ballots for which they are responsible (regardless of which candidate received the majority of votes in those jurisdictions), up to a maximum of $10,000 per vote.
In the short term, this might end up causing an excessive number of revote elections. In the longer term, however, it shouldn't since election officials would pretty quickly learn to clean up their act.

Voters may not mind an election official who gets away with fudging things in their favor, but nobody's going to like an election official whose fudging causes elections to get thrown out--especially if they have to pay for it.

We need to let the lawsuit play out. If that is thrown out under dubious reasons, then it will be time to take this to the next level. Armed revolt is WAY down the list. Right now we have the vast majority of the state on our side, but if we start to talk about watering the tree of liberty with blood, we will lose nearly all of that support.

Baynative, Don't worry about the lefties and armed resistant: they don't own any guns! We have all of the guns. ;o)

I remember when reading "The Gulag Archipelego" by Solzhenitsyn & the most puzzeling event was that the people went with the police whenever they came & went peacefully thinking that they would be appreciated & treated better. This is totally an incorrect decision. per him & I agree. If you start any action & cause them to be late to lunch 10 minutes etc you will get results. If you take no action they will continue to steam roll over all. Problem is that the conservatives are the ones at work. The commies up there have the time because they are on the government handouts.
