As of Today, there are only 22,000 petition signatures to urge the Washington legislature to order a re-vote. We need thousands more to sign. Polling indicates about 60%-75% of residents support a re-vote. Mathmatically, 1-2 million of the almost 3 million who voted would support and sign this petition if they KNEW about it.
I urge each and EVERY FReeper, or lurker, to send mass email to those Washingtonians on your email list. At least send a simple teaser including JUST the link - www.revotewa.com/petition.htm
Or, send a notice using a descriptive version, something like this one:
Dear family and friends,
I urge you to consider signing this petition to order a re-vote and elect a clear winner as Washington State governor: http://www.revotewa.com/petition.htm
Personally, I seriously doubt the integrity of the election process in King County. In particular, the canvassing board changed the rules throughout the recounts. That is just one broken rule - in a long list of glaring discrepancies - and such activity should not be tolerated in a "fair" election process. What about the over 700 ballots registered to the same address in Seattle? Election law does not allow the blanket acceptance of ballots that belong to any pool of names who happen to use a common mailing address as a residence...and stranger yet their residence happens to be an office in a county building. We deserve an honest election, not one that is tainted by partisan judges, on numerous occasions, ruling heavily for one candidate as they did in King County.
Many democrats also support a re-vote and admit they now resent voting for Gregoire after learning of Gregoires unscrupulous conduct during the recounts. Gregoire used the democratic stronghold of King County, including their partisan canvassing board and partisan judges, to sway the election results during a third count. It was all about counting until she had a lead. Her party refuses to consider validating hundreds of late military ballots but they will validate previously invalided absentee ballots, and include newly discovered ballots on 9 separate occasions in King County. An election recount has traditionally included previously counted ballots, but Gregoires tactics overturned that rule and it helped her gain the number of votes she needed to undo the tie she held with Rossi. Lets not allow Gregoire's thirst for power undermine the people's choice for governor. Now, a re-vote is the only remaining option to electing a truly legitimate governor.
Please forward this to folks you know, Democrat or Republican, encouraging them to support a re-vote instead of accepting the tainted results of this current election fiasco. Opinion polls show that 75% of our state favors a re-vote, despite the cost. And the good news is that opinion polls also favor Dino Rossi by a large margin. Chris Gregoire fears a re-vote because she KNOWS that Dino would win in a landslide.

P.S. Happy New Year! Re-Elect ROSSI 2005!
Libertina: Please ping your lists.
Also suggest you post a link to this thread on the WA state Message Board.
Ask other WA FReepers on the Message Board to ping their WA friends to this thread to sign the petition.
More info on this re-vote petition is on this thread:

Thanks.
Please Sign the Washington State
Re-Vote Petition ASAP
If Greg-Gore can raise $250,000 from MoveOn.org, $250,000 from John Kerry and $200,000 from Howard Dean for the hand recount, there isn't one good reason why people outside of Washington State can't sign the Re-Vote petition.
If it's used in a court type setting, their signatures won't count, but at least it will show the Demo-Crack-Addicts that they are losing nationwide support because of their sneaky underhanded tactics.
I signed the petition along with my husband the first day it was out
I signed the Re-vote potition. Hope this helps.
Hey, can I sign it twice? ;-)
IF you live in King County, yes you can sign twice or more. That is the norm ;)
Just signed...BTTT!!!!
Late night BUMP from a FL Freeper....
Here's a reference to the re-vote petition on the Washington State Republican Party site: http://wsrp.org/
Also, if you had not heard it yet, the Republican Party is airing a political message on radio, at least on 570 KVI, that urges a re-vote. They call the current results a "certified mess".
WE ALL SHOULD CALL our respective representatives and urge them to order a re-vote. We need to put lots of pressure on them!
