I caught wind of that being his next project. Does he realize how long it takes for an investigational drug to actually make it to the market? Does he realize how much money that takes before they even start charging for it? I wonder if he's going to work that into his "documentary" .... this should be interesting.

Boy, a film on the pharmaceutical industry will really put asses in the seats.

this should be interesting.

This should be BS. If anyone wants to see what happens when you take the profit out of drugs, try and get a flu shot.

Wanna bet mooreboy is on meds for high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and depression? Too bad he can't be denied the use of them.

I may think Rx's are too high, but I also have somewhat of an understanding as to what it takes to get them approved and I bet 'ol mooreboy won't cover that issue.

Next for mooreboy...mother's milk is a vast-right wing conspiracy!

Is it true that Moore will report that when he takes Viagra he just gets taller?

My daughter works for Eli Lilly, she said of every 100 drugs they work on, one may make it through FDA approval.

Your daughter is correct. It typically takes 10+ years to bring a drug to market. But, Moore and his crowd won't care. They just want cheap (or free) drugs.

I think someone needs to do a documentary on why Moore can't get a real job.

My wife works as a veterinary pathologist reading results for drug and tox tests. The average is actually closer to 10,000(!) formulas tested for every one that makes it into the pharma market and produces a profit for the companies.

When the fat schmuck finally gets colon rectal cancer I'm sure that he will refuse the cancer drugs on principle due to his core values and his outrage over the "economic rape" of the little people. Of course to mighty mouth, everybody's little...

Interesting. I actually support a statistical software that processes and reports early-phase tox testing data. I know the "success" percentage is much lower the earlier you look in the discovery/development process.

IMO we'll see pharma companies instituting serious restructuring, cost cutting measures, etc., to reduce the time it takes to bring a drug to market. The pressure on drug prices will not go away, even though it's a fairly small part of health care expenditures.
