For all the hype, all the hoopla, all the shameless self-promotion by Michael Moore...The Anti-Bushites, the extremists in this country could only muster $23 Million in sales as opposed to the conservative-supported Passion of the Christ brought in $83 Million in sales during its opening weekend. We at PABAAH see this as a huge victory over the radical leftists in this country. The Silent Majority has spoken again, and it said NO to Michael Moore and his anti-Americanism. God Bless America!
Fahrenheit 9/11 $23,920,637
THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST
Opening Weekend: $83,848,082
patriot ping
Well, it was shown on only 125+ screens, no?
Don't ya just love it! And you are right about the spin. You'd think this was the blockbuster of the year. They keep spinning it as the largest grossing DOCUMENTARY... ya right..... Documentary my canary.
FAT-N-HYPE 9/11
Rush said today that it ranked 223rd in all time box office receipts for the first release weekend.
IOW, PUNY PERFORMANCE!
This is not good. If the silent majority has indeed spoken, then it is not for our side.
LOL! I love the banner on that site:
HEY HOLLYWOOD, YOU'RE FIRED!
If they were then some Lib whacko could come and say The Passion was a big-time flop because Spider-man beat it during the opening weekend, and in all time totals (the theater runs for both movies) beat it by several hundred million. Or, they could come and say that a cartoon like Finding Nemo beat out The Passion. Apples vs Oranges comparisons can be seen any way.
Moore's slug-fest actually did quite well ....for a documentary. But so what! It was targeted at whipping up the Democrat core to come up against Bush come this election. I believe that was its main point. I doubt even Moore was delusional enough to think Conservatives would watch it and start beating down Kerry's front door to register Democrat. Moore is carzy, but i doubt he is insane. This was a Democratic presidential push-campaign. Think of it as a movie-length Kerry documentary attacking Bush.
The important thing to do is to focus on voting end of year. Vote, and get all your conservative friends to the polling booths. Disregard polls .....especially polls that say GW is ahead (those are the worst since they make people complacent). Even if GW is ahead double-digits still go and vote. That way it won't matter what Moore's little film garners.
This will be the most important election in a long time, and anyone who deems him or herself conservative needs to prove it in the polling booth.
If "The Passion" wasn't a documentary, what was it?
From Dictionary.com:
doc·u·men·ta·ry (adj.)Your canary seems to be correct.1. Consisting of, concerning, or based on documents.
2. Presenting facts objectively without editorializing or inserting fictional matter, as in a book or film.
Thanks for the ping, Jon.
I see you have a number following you around on these Moore threads. Mail incoming.
most likely never...it'll die this weekend when another work of fiction appears...Spiderman 2. In fact, I do believe that movie has more truth to it than Moore's propaganda. ;)
BTW, we've heard all the lib outrage over the Abu Ghraib prison "abuse", where is the similar outrage from these so-called supporters of the troops as the terrorists cut off the heads and execute American soldiers?
did you see it? from what I've heard, everyone in America had access to this propaganda...and it pulled in a measly $23 million. The Stepford Wives made almost as much money...and surely that was based more on fact than UnFairenheit 9/11...yawn. Spiderman 2 will be the death knell for Moore's anti-American opportunism.
Spiderman 2 will be the fatal blow...now, it's time to file sedition charges vs Moore.
thanks...it's true. None of them have seen my $$
exactly...BTW, CitizensUnited.org is filing a complaint with the FEC over this film...Why was MoveOn.org allowed to pass out campaign info at the theatres? B/C it's political propaganda...
They also threw in some spit for the troops...
Run his a$$ right out of America, tarred and feathered!
I second that!
